His move to Austin is kinda ****ing up housing prices right now. Houses even around Austin like Kyle, Elgin, Buda, Manor and Hutto are being marked up 100k to 150k over their actual price. Californians are used to paying that amount in Cali are overpaying. The worst are the investors that are buying up all the new construction homes, even going so far as to deceive builders by acting like they're a family looking to buy the home for their family instead of treat it as an investment property. You'd think it'd be a good thing for realtors but it's not. I mean if you're middle class and able to afford a home, I imagine it's gotta be distressing knowing a home you covet will automatically by marked up an additional 100k before actual bidding negotiations even begin. All it's going to do is turn Austin into another San Fran while simultaneously driving out all local residents that actually grew up here for Californian transplants that are riding the hype train. The Elon dicksucking in this thread is a bit pathetic IMO.
