Wow, that sucks. Him, Cari, and Tory were the best part of that show. Never understood how anybody could work with that ******* hyneman.
I can't tell if she knew he had died or was in trouble when she posted this about 5 hours ago or not. I'm guessing she did? If not... damn :
damn... rip. really enjoyed mythbusters when it came out. They had such an awesome cast, mustache man and everything.
My mom died from an aneurysm when I was 13. It just happens completely out of nowhere. Loved Mythbusters from the very start. Some memories stick in your head for whatever reason. On the way to school 94.5 had them on as guests before the first episode and the premise had my attention immediately, watched all the way until its conclusion. Before the 09 superbowl they had marathon me and my friends watched while we were dealing with our hangovers..may have been the worst hangover of my life. Really sucks to hear, he seemed like a good guy.
Mythbusters was one of my favorite shows than Grant, Kari and Tori were a huge part of that. They did have a spin off show I think that didn't catch on... perhaps the concept had jumped the shark, but also I think they missed the dynamics of the two main hosts.
only dude with a normal and likable personality on the show. also would have been last in any deadpool. crazy thing
I never really watched this show, any particular episodes that stick out to yall as being particularly awesome?
Very sad. Aneurysms are like getting struck by lightening or meteor impacts. Can't really predict them and scary to think that they are one of those things that could just happen.
I'm definitely not an expert in this and if someone here knows more would like to learn more. My understanding is that this can't be screened for. I think the only prevention is keeping your blood pressure low.
I think they can screen with an MRI or CT but that costs thousands of dollars so they dont really do it unless you have genetic predisposition. Sometimes they are discovered during MRI's for other things. It's basically a defect in the wall of one of your blood vessels that blows out like a tire popping. You screen by physically looking for a artery with a big bulge in it.
I can give you a synopsis of almost every episode, and they were always great. The find some obscure, often silly, myths from the internet. They usually had 2 teams testing 2 different one. They then use very scientific methods to genuinely try and test the myth, no matter how absurd. 95% of the time the myth is very predictably busted by the mid way point of the episode. So they then set out to artificially replicate the end result by any means, which somehow always ends in something getting blown up. Clips from one of the most famous early episodes about sums it up. And one of the most noteworthy confirmed myths.
If you are only in it for the science, there is a youtube channel called mythbusters for the impatient that cuts out all the fluff.
