Florida announced a record of almost 9,000 positive cases today. Bars are closing again starting today. Restaurant will go to 25% capacity if we get more of those numbers in 5 straight days.

Reminds me of when the World Trade Center was attacked in the 1990s, and Rudy Giuliani put the city's emergency crisis response & recovery center in the... *** checks notes***..World Trade Center.

Florida is a gas can in waiting for Corona. They have the 2nd highest 65+ percentage @ 20.5%. Compare that to Texas @ 12.6%.

Adam Silver: "No option is risk-free right now ... the challenge before us as a society, and as an industry, is to find a safe way to operate."

Adam Silver: "The challenge before us as a society, and as an industry, is to find a safe way to operate. We can't sit on the sideline indefinitely. We have to find a way to adapt."

Adam Silver calls plan safe and responsible.

Silver: "We believe it will be safer on our campus than outside it. It is far from an ideal way for us to finish our season."

Silver says enhanced audio for players and coaches and never-before-seen camera angles will be part of the broadcasts for these games at Disney.

Silver says the broadcasts will include, among other things: "Unique, never before seen camera angles, enhanced audio with players and coaches, and virtual concerts and halftime performances."

Adam Silver says NBA is coming back because sports matter.

NBPA executive Michele Roberts: “We needed to make sure that we could mitigate (risk) as much as possible to get back to playing, keep our players safe, keep our teams safe.”

Silver: "The level of concern has increased not just because of the level in Florida but across the country. We designed our campus to isolate ... from whatever the level of cases are in our surrounding community." Said have been talks about additional testing of Disney staff.

Silver said positive tests will not change the plan based on whether a superstar or a journeyman. But acknowledged "If we were to have significant spread of coronavirus through our community, that ultimately might lead us to stopping."

Adam Silver says that any one positive test, no matter the player, won't stop things from continuing. He says the league is discussing with health officials and the players what would happen in an instance of "significant spread" but that "that line hasn't been set yet."

Adam Silver: "My ultimate conclusion is we can't outrun the virus, and we are going to be living with this for the foreseeable future."

Silver said there would initially be daily testing for COVID-19 on the Disney campus.

Roberts and Silver said they were "relieved" that only 16 players tested positive and none are currently seriously ill.

Have they published any guidelines for non-NBA people going in and out of the bubble? A link will be much appreciated.

No option is risk free, but also no option is as high risk than the very worst outbreak in the country and maybe the world, Adam

Yes, in an interview done over a week ago when Florida was doing <1,000 cases a day.

This week they jumped to 3000, then 5000, now nearly 9000! Their curve is vertical. It's scary.

Its lunacy to have the bubble now in Florida.
Forget the actual danger to the NBA personel and consider the situation around it.
By the time the season begins again its inevitable that Florida will be forced to be in total lockdown, hospitals will be overwhelmed, dead bodies piling up.
How is the NBA going to justify wasting all these tests, resources and doctors catering to a luxury like sports in the middle of a humanitarian crisis?

so the next 8 games on the original schedule, in the previous report were essentially shuffled. And the raptors were the last team. They look to have been replaced by the spurs.

The #Rockets first FOUR games will be on National Television:
    Mavericks - ESPN
    Bucks - ABC
    Sunday Primetime
Blazers - TNT Lakers - TNT

Lol I know - let's say a player gets injured, do they take him to the hospital that has a temporary morgue set up outside for all the corpses?

I'm no consultant but I'mma call bad optics!

    Morbid imagery there man.

That said, Vegas or Hawaii may be better options.
