    Claiming the Rockets have an asterisk because one player chose not to play may be the most incongruous argument in sports.

    Still the ONLY team ever to be under a 4th seed and win it all in NBA history, pre- and post-merger. It's probably (one of) the most underrated success story in pro-sports history. Playoff seeding in the NBA is the most accurate predictor of who will win the championship of any pro sport. Except one year, one team complete bucked all of that.

    Championships are in record books.

    Asterisks are subject to each individual person's whims.

    You'll drive yourself crazy if you constantly seek validation from strangers. Life is too damn short, and sports are supposed to be a fun hobby. If your team won one, enjoy it and don't worry about what Max Kellerman (or anybody else) thinks. That's my philosophy on it.

    and chose not to play for only 1 of the 2 seasons. Michael Jordan not being able to reach the finals one year is the silliest reason for an asterisk of all time. Even sillier than claiming an asterisk on a season he chose not to play. Lebron didn't reach the finals last year, does that make Toronto's win illegitimate?
