BoB has spin some powerful bs to get promoted. Im pretty sure he can spin on how he's more vital to the team than Watson to Cal.
The scary thing is the owner is okay with O’Brien and his power. So it is time for us to become fans of another team while O’Brien is still employed by the franchise
Texans non-tender OT Roderick Johnson, making him a free agent. https://www.chron.com/sports/texans/article/Texans-don-t-tender-tackle-Roderick-Johnson-15141206.php
Multiple players going on record what we've heard rumors of before. OBrien gets super personal about why he turns on players and won't play them. Devier Posey tweeted that OBrien wouldn't play him and then cut him because he missed a day of training camp for the birth of a child. OBrien told him that he didn't have dedication for football. We've heard this type of thing before. This is probably the issue with Keke Coutee as well. Dude was super productive, got hurt, had a rumor that he didn't practice well and boom, dude couldnt sniff the field.
If he doesn't, then that is a clear sign for all of us to abandon ship. If BOB is chosen over D4, then maybe its time to adopt the Roughnecks as our City's team. At least June Jones has some fun with his offense and isn't a total dumbshit.
Honestly don't know what the deal is with Cal anymore. Giving O'Brien GM powers was already a baffling move; maybe he is really is just content on simply making money behind the scenes while passing on all the tough decisions. It will be quite a long while before Texans fans say they had enough and it affects his bottom line. O'Brien isn't mediocre enough to not lose and Texans fans will continue to sellout like the sheep they are.
Correct. The four you mentioned + Cook, Jones, Jacobs, Chubb, Ecekler, Gordon and, yes, Kamara are all objectively better. Or, at the very least, no GM in football would trade any of those guys for Todd Gurley, who is gassed and done. Sorry, only one GM in football would trade any of those guys for Gurley and he'd probably throw in a 3rd round pick for good measure.
People were dogging KeKe Coutee... I knew all along O'Brien was the issue. This MF is a high school coach.
Run off someone? "Need a cap guy?" BoB doesn't have anything else to do. He'll have that job too by Friday, or he'll give it to the Reverend.
We need to get Robby Anderson and pair him with Fuller and really stretch the field. Along with stills and Cobb. And duke to work underneath. Watson throws a really good deep ball. I think it should be the way to go offensively.
Just wanted to pass along a fun story from "inside the building" the past couple days. After trading Hopkins, BOB turned his attention to Darius Slay. Had a contract in place for Will Parks but Parks backed out after talking with former Texan. So Texans turned attention to trades for secondary help. Deal was being discussed as the Texans 2nd and 6th rounders this year and the Arizona 4th next season for Slay. The Texans were yet again prepared to do the trade without an extension in place for Slay. This is where the "meeting" occurred between Cal and BOB happened yesterday. Apparently, Cal and Bill together agreed it best not to do the trade for Slay after the backlash they have been getting for Hopkins, which Cal was not 100% aware of before it happened. He was aware talks were being had. That is all. There have been 3 free agents that were in contract negotiations with Houston that have since gone in other directions due to the Hopkins deal. Belief within the league and amongst personnel people is BOB has turned his team into the laughing stock of the league. Just as an FYI, the team on Kirby lives in a bubble. They believe they are the top dog in Houston and firmly believe they are on the right track. Heed this as a warning, even if BOB were to flounder this year and get fired, the next hire will not be much better. This all stems from the top down. This is a failure by the McNairs to understand the need for a real football operations person in the building. This will get worse. Just keep in mind.
So he traded Hopkins without cal being aware? That’s a fireable offense period. second...the next hire should be Dabo.
its an easy fix.. Rick Smith is Cal Mcnair daughter/son God father.. Doubt he wouldn't consider hiring him back?
But you said earlier this week that the team would be quiet and not many moves would be made? Sounds like the opposite happened to me
That’s what I’m saying. Of course McNair has to sign off on the trade. I see this season as Chip Kelly’s last season in philly. A total disaster with a mutual parting next January
