At least GM BO'B doesn't have a lot of early draft picks the next two years to blow, either through trades or poor selections.So.... we've got that going for us, which is nice....
And next they'll replace the field turf at NRG with, 'a cross of Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sinsemilla.' Love that movie. Light some of it up and it'll help us get through the games...
Brightside is that BoB literally has no one else to blame when texans get exposed once more in playoffs due to his incompetence.
When teapot boils over and spills making it personal.. that will be fun. Dhop: "Coach I'm not reporting for the start of training camp. I'm just going to hold out for a day like last time maybe go to the Galleria..." B'ob: "Whatcha say about my momma?"
................ Would that be a bad deal?........... I'd substitute Merciless, and feel better about it - but dealing players for picks wouldn't be - *in theory* - the worst thing he could do.
Don't ever underestimate BoB and his ability to pull off magic tricks when it comes to power. I mean this is the last 3 weeks we fired a bunch of coaches because we needed to change direction of the team and promoted the HC because we liked the direction of the team. BoB somehow is the ONLY head coach in the NFL to also have the GM title.
This needs to be reiterated for the @mario_v's and others who preach the gospel of BoB. And also for the fans who defend him religiously, and then pretend they don't, and then want him fired at halftime. Them too.
At least they will be able to navigate their increasingly tricky cap situation with their noted cap expert on board...whoops...
No he has creepy Easterby and if that doesn’t work he can start blaming the players. He has it covered, he is an expert at politics.
What's weird about it... It's not really a thing anymore. It used to be - until all the head coaches realized it was frickin' impossible. Guys like Belichick, Payton, Reid... they almost certainly have tremendous input/clout when it comes to personnel - but they're all content to let others have the title and do all the GM duties that they frankly don't have time/energy to do (negotiate. trade, scout....) BO'B is going to draw much of the ire - but, man..... Cal McNair is the real disappointment here. I was really hoping he'd bring something different to the table. I knew they'd never fire BO'B - but you can make changes around him - changes they've desperately needed - and make the team better. I would have been totally content with a Wade Phillips/2011 kind of offseason.
