i live about 8 miles from this. I woke up thinking lightning had struck our house. Furniture shook...crazy
Propylene, apparently. Shouldn't be a chemical hazard to worry with. Company was fined $8k in 2013 for the way they stored hazardous chemicals.
$8,000? Man, that's a game changing amount of money for a company right there. I'm sure it sent a loud and clear message. Or not.
I cracked the case, my dudes. Sidenote: I lived like 3 blocks away from here when I last lived in Houston. Glad I was not there. Yikes.
I heard it Gessner and Westheimer area. Immediately rolled back over though. Had already forgotten about it til I saw the thread.
We (my wife and I) live maybe 3, 3.5 miles from the blast site. She said the blast shook our apartment. I didn't feel the blast, but was in such deep dream sleep; I did wake and thought I simply had to go pee. But by coincidence, it was at exactly the same time as the explosion. So, it woke me, but I didn't know it was the cause. More than three miles and shook an apartment building. Damn.
