He hasn't even competed in his first couple of playoff starts. He has one more Q but he doesn't look equipped to make a comeback.
Right now maybe, but we'll see next year. He's coming off an injury that doesn't fully regain strength until the 2nd season.
Nope. Nobody's hating on Lamar Jackson because after watching football for decades, many of us could tell a QB who can't throw a decent spiral or outside the numbers isn't going to go far in the playoffs. Lamar is a great success story of taking lemons and making lemonade with it. Hats off to John Harbaugh for retooling his entire team around one player and maximizing to his strengths and hiding his weaknesses. However, we may have seen peak Lamar Jackson already. He's not going to threaten Mahomes and Watson for AFC supremacy going forward.
Ravens finally get a TD in almost 3.5 quarters into the playoffs. Can't imagine them doing this 2 more times this quarter. They look like a great regular season team, but just can't do it in when it matters...at least not this year.
I do think he's good enough to win a superbowl...but it's going to take a team built around him specifically. A heavy defense oriented team that can keep and hold leads so that he can control the game with his legs. But yeah, guys like Mahomes and Watson you can put them on any team and they work. I don't think that's true for Jackson.
This is a fact! Everyone thought I was crazy when I told them titans would win this game by limiting Jackson’s runs and making him throw it. They still won’t admit they were wrong lol they buy into the media hype and look at stats. Lamar has a suspect arm and if you shut down that run it’s over.
Tennessee has this locked up, even if the Ravens get them on 4th watch big brain Vrabel do what he did last week. Ravens may not get the ball back...unless the Titans score.
The Titans are a better potential match up for the Texans. The Texans were not beating the Ravens. everything has broken right for the Texans... up to them to see if they can take advantage.
I always find this argument bizarre. What are you suggesting? The 16 teams they played in the regular season just chose not to stop him? They had the same 1 week to prepare but decided not to use it?
I disagree with everyone's assessment of Jackson. Would have been more believable if the whole "dude can't pass to save his life" argument was brought up at the end of last season. But regardless of how good he's been this year, much of his success has come from his passing game evolving. Sure, the threat of him running is always present on every play, so that might open up the passing game for him. But to say that he absolutely stinks as a passer, I think is incorrect. I think this game was a fluke for him, to be honest. He's had great games this season against Houston, Buffalo, the Rams, the Patriots, the 49ers, Seahawks and Chiefs - all of which are either current playoff teams or made it to the SB last year. Guess it's easy to pile on Jackson since playoffs DO matter, but it's sad that everyone is basically judging Jackson's entire season on the 60 minutes of football tonight.
Vrabel headed to the AFC title game in his 2nd year. Vrabel didn't need 4-5-6 years to find a QB? He's doing it with Dolphin castoff Ryan Tannehill?! DOESN'T MATTER BRIAN. AFC SOUTH CHAMPS BRIAN.
