I searched but couldn't find a thread for this. Was recommended by a friend since we both liked Daxter. Binged watched the two seasons, and I liked it. While I still think Dexter is superior, this does have a similar feel and approach, however, it's not about a serial killer but rather a stalker. Normally, the stalker movies/shows I've seen have the perspective of the victim, not the stalker, so this was refreshing. I have not read the book, so I don't know how the series compare. Has anyone seen this? Thoughts?
How can you say it’s not about a serial killer but a stalker? He kills multiple people in the first season and frames an innocent guy for the murders. I think through two seasons he has killed at least 9 characters.
That may be debatable, but the reason I say it's not about a serial killer, is because that is not his agenda, it's only the symptom of his primary agenda of constantly seeking "love" and pleasing his loved ones in his twisted ways. He doesn't seek out preys to murder. This is key difference. If you notice, he never actually intended to kill any one of those people. He either killed them to protect himself from being exposed or to protect someone else.
Freaking Dan Humphrey is out there leaving DNA all over the place. I like the actress who plays "Love" she looks different than when she was in 'The Haunting." By different, I mean thicker which is always nice. I don't think he's killed 9 people. (edit he has, nevermind.)
He still is just a wannabe Dexter. No code I guess. Lots of kills do happen clumsily. The Stalking part is what got me drawn to this hands down.
I was talking with a girl on a dating app. She asked me what the last show I was binge watching. I told her it was about an obsessive stalker who sometimes kills people and that I was really into it and that she should come over and watch it with me. She didn't respond after that.
Funny you started this. We just started watching on Monday night. Just finished the first season. I like it. So does my wife.
Well, it has some negatives and some positives. Still do not understand why he must kill for his neighbors but would figure one day. His urge to be good and bad the same moment.
Just like Dexter, youre all in from the first episode. Hopefully it doesn't attempt to overextend and fade and die out like Dexter.
