This is the same crap that's been going on since 2015. It's been documented that they have been doing this for ages. They have files on every team. The NFL knows this. If this is all confirmed, yet AGAIN, the NFL needs to ban Bill Bellicheck and force Robert Kraft to sell the team. Yes, I'm dead serious. No, Goddell doesn't have the balls. THIS IS AN EXCERPT FROM AN OTL ARTICLE FROM 2015! 2015!: AS THE PATRIOTS became a dynasty and Belichick became the first coach to win three Super Bowls in four years, an entire system of covert videotaping was developed and a secret library created. "It got out of control," a former Patriots assistant coach says. Sources with knowledge of the system say an advance scout would attend the games of upcoming Patriots opponents and assemble a spreadsheet of all the signals and corresponding plays. The scout would give it to Adams, who would spend most of the week in his office with the door closed, matching the notes to the tapes filmed from the sideline. Files were created, organized by opponent and by coach. During games, Walsh later told investigators, the Patriots' videographers were told to look like media members, to tape over their team logos or turn their sweatshirt inside out, to wear credentials that said Patriots TV or Kraft Productions. The videographers also were provided with excuses for what to tell NFL security if asked what they were doing: Tell them you're filming the quarterbacks. Or the kickers. Or footage for a team show. https://www.espn.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/13533995/split-nfl-new-england-patriots-apart This is exactly what they tried yesterday. Ban Bellicheck. Force Kraft to sell. Dynasty is over, folks. This is big time.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...ideo-crew-filmed-sideline-bengals-browns-game I’m waking & reading nonsense about taping an NFL sideline. If you cover this game for a living, you’re the go-between for fans—you either educate or misinform. If you aren’t educated yourself on the basic facts of what’s plainly visible on an NFL sideline in 2019... ...get an education before ya spread more misinfo. You’re at these games every week ffs, just look—or ask a professional to explain it to you. Every human in an NFL stadium can freely see/tape/whatever an NFL sideline. The signals go thru radio signals, not gestures as in ‘07... ...It’s professional malpractice to give an audience an impression of something untoward or seedy or “cheating” because u haven’t learned what is (and isn’t) right before everyone’s eyeballs. There can’t be “espionage”—there’s no longer anything there to be so-called “stolen”... ...My experience covering this league for these many years is that there’s a disappointing thread of kinda-stupid that runs through the way the NFL is covered, as if simple things can’t be bothered to be learned/researched—particularly if misinfo can provide clicks or content.. ... Do Your Job means you too. If you’ve been staring at NFL sidelines for years & give an audience the wrong impression of what is & isn’t there to be seen, u aren’t doing yours. Let’s not be stupid just to forward lazy narratives about teams u don’t like. Pretty straightforward
The assistant coach who cooperated with the NFL the last time specifically said that they were instructed to use "filming for a team show" as an excuse if they got caught lol.
It's kinda odd to me that it's filming a sideline during a game is considered cheating, especially in this age where all 50k+ fans in the stadium have a high resolution recorder in their pocket. It's like when you look at your friend's screen in Goldeneye. You're not supposed to, but you can't really stop it so it's fair game for everyone.
As an Astros fan I have to defend the Pats here. Just wish the Astros could make up a good lie like the NE has with the TV show thing.
Also, the guy asked if the NFL could just delete it and pretend it didn't happen... Fool me once... This is bigger than it's being reported. It lines up EXACTLY with what was written with Outside The Lines in 2015.
LOL. I used to get into fights over that. THAT I can understand being mad about. Not sure why @EddieWasSnubbed is so butthurt. OUTSIDE the LINESSSS in TWENTY FIFTEEEN. Lulz.
Honestly, who gives a ****?? Turnabout is fair play. Just spy on all their **** too, and call it a day.
To me, it's the Astros only worse. People paint the Astros out to be villains when every team does something similar to them. This is the third time the Patriots have been caught with their pants down. If the MLB is going to throw the book at the Astros, Goodell needs to grow some balls and throw the book at New England.
You know everything you should know. We got caught again. But Ol' Rog ain't gonna do anything to us. Belichick: We don't knowingly cross the line
Either this was accidental, OR this indicates the extremes to which the Patriots are still going. Because the Bungles would certainly not be a team the Patriots should be concerned about. Rules, schmules...who needs rules? Seriously? Should we not investigate murder either, and just let someone from the victim's family kill someone in the perp's family??? (NOT equating this to murder, just to indicate the flaw in logic through a more extreme example that I would hope everyone would agree makes no sense) Extremely telling phraseology. Not 'you already know everything this to know'. But 'you already know what you *should* know. Consider someone in government or the military saying this same thing. You'd immediately know there was a lot more to the story, right? And that they just didn't want you to know any more. Same applies here. This stinks to high heaven, and I'm thinking that some of the extreme remedies being proposed here are actually quite appropriate. Third strike and you're out. Bar them from playoffs for two years?
Spygate was against the 4-12 Jets (granted it was the first game of the season) They got caught again and now we don't care anymore, no big deal, just sweep it under the rug. Tell them you're a Bob Kraft employee shooting for a team show. Delete the footage & all be forgotten? Whaaa?! Why? If you're not doing anything wrong, right? Just shooting something for the team, right? Why delete & forget?
Know what is funny? Having a Trump supporter lecture someone else on the sanctity of rules..... especially about the need for "extreme remedies".
