we need an Ibaka type...can play the 4 or 5, is a big body, and can stretch the floor plus roll to the rim Capela gets the ball at the free throw line all the time with no one within 5 feet of him, but can do nothing since he has no perimeter skills at all...someone like Ibaka would feast we also need a legit Ariza replacement...another wing with great length this midget ball was good for the Warriors death lineup, but the Warriors ain’t a threat anymore too bad we can’t get someone like Ibaka, and Morey been failing at adding a wing for 2 years and counting...
Rockets need a low post threat for sure. Doesn't have to big a big man. A big guard who can score in the post would help. Layups and Threes Only offense will never win a championship unless you have Curry and Thompson and the Rockets don't.
No. The moment that the Rockets Moreyball offence has to rely on low post scoring, something has gone very very wrong.
There are really only a couple guys in the entire NBA that are legit post threats who are efficient enough you can reliably go to through them. Giannis, Embiid, Townes. Is there anyone else?
Donatas Motiejunas suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks and will never again be an NBA rotation player. I will bet good money right now that we never see him average more than 10 minutes a game for an NBA season again.
I don't think that would have been an issue if D'Antoni went with either Capela or Chandler. He did not.
I always wanted Boogie on the Rockets. Glad they didn’t pay him a ton a couple seasons ago. I can’t think of an available low post scorer though. Yes, I know there is DMo.... that’s not happening. Can you guys think of anyone who fits the bill and could be available? I don’t think CC for AG really helps. That would make the Rockets an even smaller team.
Blake Griffin would be ideal. I don’t think Detroit will pull the trigger though. Especially seeing that the only way the Rockets could get up to that salary matching is with CC, PJ and McLemore... I don’t know if that’s worth it. Losing all of those players while only adding Griffin could throw this season away unless they could reload on the buyout market. Plus the Pistons already have Drummond so we are talking about a full blow up situation for them. If they traded for CC then they would HAVE to find a home for Drummond which would drastically reduce his trade value.
We do but we can’t. We have to accept we will not be able to trade for anyone making more than $7 or $8 million, and even that won’t be easy. We’re talking about combining several useless players for a team to take, and then we’d have to be adding picks as incentives
It's a big misconception and the rockets coincidentally have avoided anything in that department for the last 12 years because "the game is changing"
