At some point, the Rockets need to realize when they are off from three that they can attack the basket and get closer shots. You can still shoot 50-60 threes and do that, too. Mike D’Antoni needs to realize that no matter how much P.J. Tucker competes on defense, he cannot bother a seven footer’s shot on the block. When teams shade Harden heavily to his left and play behind him, James Harden needs to take the wide open driving lane every time and force the defense to make a choice on him.

The most encouraging thing tonight was that Russell Westbrook didn’t jack up too many bad shots, and he was like a mini P.J. Tucker in the fourth quarter when it comes to hustle plays. I also liked what I saw from Danuel House in spurts. He attacked off the bounce and made some nice passes.

LMAO - D'Antoni going small ball killed the team.

Ridiculous to keep playing Eric Gordon when he's obviously off with his shot. You have House, Rivers, and McLemore who can replace him but no, let's let Gordon sabotage the offense.

Then not playing Capela at the end allowing Lopez to wreak havoc? Another loss that was totally preventable with better in-game coaching.

Harden shot poorly but he made excellent reads for the most part. Unfortunately, Eric Gordon turned into a bricklayer tonight. If Gordon hits half the open shots generated off Harden, we'd be saying James was a wizard.

would of been nice if he could hit a few of those open 3's he got in the last few minutes. that's what alot of these games are going to come down to, especially in the playoffs. hes going to be a bad shooter but just be able to hit situational shots would be huge

One of the big men should have been in the game for sure. A guy like Ilyasova though would be perfect for the Rockets.

It wasnt Russ' fault. Russ imposed his will in the 4th when everyone else didn't do much of anything.

Harden just cant shoot this awful, IDGAF about the refs. He was passing well but this team needs him to score. Personally I just dont see this offense meshing. Also why TF was Capela benched in the last 5 mins? Tucker was getting worked repeatedly by Lopez, like how do u not see that as a coach?

you cant play small ball on defense against 2 7 footers. We have to make them play defense on us and compete. If you shoot threes after bodies and the ball moves you live with what shots you get. But what you don't do is take your foot off the gas. Brodie needs to be the one setting the tempo. Recall D'antoni subbed westbrook out in the first quarter,it needs to be the other way around Sub James at the beginning of the quarter 3 minutes in and let westbrook set the tone.James will play better and with more force and so will the role players

Not getting a 4 with size might really be the reason we don’t win a ship.

Tucker on Lopez to end the game was just f’n ridiculous

Harden needs to play a traditional SG for this to work and Westbrook need to be alongside him at the point but too bad our one-dimensional coach and Harden refusal to adjust will be our downfall this season.

Also, every contender has bigs at the forward position except us. We're just going to be man-handled on rebounds and post play.

Relying on a 36yo PJ tucker to defend centers is going be a bad move.

I'm fine with it, one think i'd still like to see is give minutes to Clark, even over McLemore...i understand his shooting is still not where we want it to be, but with minutes game and confidence might come, and he's the profile of player this team needs imo, would've been perfect to guard Ilyasova tonight.

Dumbtoni could have had Chandler or Capela guarding Lopez. They are both 7'0 or taller. Instead of doing that though Dumbtoni went full r****d and went small ball, just like what he did in the playoffs last year.

pringles sticking with gordon was reminiscent of him sticking with capela against gs. then going smallball down the stretch -- he is simply his own worst enemy. stubborn AF

If Tilman fires Mike, I'd almost forgive his tax aversion. That's where your money is being wasted Tilman! (Yes I know Mike will still get paid regardless).
