No, PR is also there to limit the damage from bad situations, such as this one. I absolutely think the fallout would have been way worse if Westbrook and/or Harden had "next questioned" it, for example. Look, it is a big deal, and that's why the team addressed it on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. But it can't go on forever. Maybe today wasn't the best day to draw the line in the sand, I don't know. But PR is there to set limits; otherwise, it could literally go on forever.
You know the NBA hates us, lol. Harden (or Westbrook) should have just answered the question like everyone else - By deflecting.
In my opinion, as a simple person watching this the best option would have been for the players themselves to say a non answer like "we already answered this question and have no more to say on the subject". If you are a non NBA fan, who just follows this story and has been already riled up by the national media what you see with this picture is censorship.Another insult to freedom of speech and hypocrisy by the league. Whether it was or not, it doesn't matter. It's what it looks like. My opinion. I don't think it's the greatest of looks. We don't have only NBA fans who are used to "next questions" watching us at this moment.
The NBA threw that staffer under the bus. So since the NBA says she was inappropriate, will Harden or Russ answer the question?
NBA squarely sticking it to the Rockets. As it should. The league will defend our GM's freedom of speech, not our PR team's censorship.
Agents and CP3 , the union leader is telling player s to response with: I don't know no nothing about China history and current situation to speak about it
She was protecting them. Good for her. Taking one for the team. The NBA is being two-faced here by throwing her under the bus. Obviously they don’t want their players being put in a vulnerable position at this time, which is what questions like that will do.
This is a bad look for the Rockets and the NBA is right. It was a fair question and they could've easily answered it that they feel the same about speaking up as before or that it feels a bit different now since it's become a big issue or something along those lines. Very weak of the Rockets, Westbrook and or Harden's representatives.
how much do you think NBA hating on rockets was an actual cause or at least has somewhat contributed to the chinese overreaction to the moreys tweet? imho it seems that nba office and the media teaching masses to hate the rockets backfired because the masses just repeated what nba office and media were constantly feeding them...
The new Chinese policy on the NBA seems to be just ignore what has happened and wait out people's ADD ladled brain until they forget. Clearly the NBA and the Rockets are going along with it. Just keep things calm and eventually everyone will go back to talking about basketball. So even people get outraged over this, it wouldn't be nearly as bad as if Harden and Westbrook said something that could be quoted later on. Honestly all things considered, not much to say. This will be a "move on, nothing to see here" thing eventually
You already know the Japanese still don’t like china. Don’t come up in japan talking about china girl. You about get jumped outside lmao. Japan and China hates each other guts and this broad sitting here busting about china like they got power in japan.
