Athletic article on Jordan Lyles mentions Houston had serious interest in him at the deadline. Would not be surprised (nor mind) if Houston signed him to be their 4th starter next season.
Adrian Houser has been really good for Milwaukee this year: https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=12718&position=P Looking like a potential mid-rotation starter
With the season in the books, here are the former Astros who posted >1 fWAR this season: Villar 4 Laureano 3.8 JD Martinez 3.2 JD Davis 2.3 Castro 1.5 Marwin 1.4 Fowler 1.3 E Hernandez 1.3 T Hernandez 1.2 McCann 1.0 Morton 6.1 Musgrove 3.3 Hader 2.3 Thornton 1.9 Giles 1.8 Fiers 1.7 Lyles 1.6 Houser 1.4 Happ 1.3 Melancon 1.2
How many WARs does Hader lose for serving up the tying HR with 2 out in the 9th last night with a chance to tie STL for the NL Central lead?
You and I were the only guys that liked Villar on shaggy and crawfish boxes. He’s still the butt of many a joke both places. I think this is his second 4 War season in the last 3. Yes we had nowhere for him to play, but the return for him (and Sandavol) were criminally light.
He did lead the league in errors from centerfield this season but last year he led the league in centerfield assists. Odd.
I said on shaggy and crawfish boxes. I wasn’t here until last year when it wasn’t a thing. Over at those two places he was basically MR Buttslide guy
Heh. I thought at the time he would be a great utility guy eventually, but we had Marwin at the same time. Didn't need both, and I think they picked the right guy. His fans were few and far between back then, though. And hey, maybe Cy Sneed will eventually pay off?
