Sterns and Green had/have me worried. So did Coburn while he was down on the turf. Who was NT #92 (I swear it was 92) who came in the next play and completely blew up that 4th and 1 play for OSU down near the goal line?
Great atmosphere in the stadium last night, but the special teams errors really sucked the life out of everyone. The fourth quarter lasted what felt like an hour longer than it should’ve due to the turnovers and letting Oklahoma State hang around. But, that’s a game we lose under Charlie and I’m glad to see we can win ugly against Gundy, who always has our number. The injuries on defense are a huge concern (I don’t recall seeing a single Cowboys player get hurt while so many of our defenders went down), but I hope the bye week helps. Also, it’s not great for the Big 12, but I’m happy to see Shane and SMU beat TCU to go 4-0. I’m happy he found a landing spot to play some more football.
Ya nice to see Shane get a good win. Special teams and penalties on defense made this a much closer games than it should’ve been. Suspecting Green and Sterns will be out for a while which hurts. Need to get guys back soon. As good as Ehlinger has been so far, the star of the team has been this OL group IMO. I don’t recall Sam even being even pressured last night other than the naked bootleg to seal the game.
Really? I thought it might have been Christmas or somebody. Go re-watch that play, he blew it all to hell.
Josh Thompson - Broken foot, out 8-10 weeks. Jalen Green - Dislocated Shoulder, out and month or so. Caden Sterns - Sprained knee ligament, out 4 weeks.
Jalen Hurts is going to torch us. Also, I thought we only had 1 bye due to the big 12 game coming back? Next Week: Bye Oct 5th: @WEST VIRGINIA Oct 12th: VS OKLAHOMA Oct 19th: VS KANSAS Oct 26: @TCU Nov 2nd: BYE Nov 9th: VS KANSAS ST Nov 16th: @IOWA ST Nov 23rd: @BAYLOR Nov 28th: VS TEXAS TECH
Some bye week notes: - Mack going for the win vs. Clemson. Like the decision to go for it, tough loss after going toe to toe with #1 Clemson. - Shane Buechele taking a Charlie Strong to the woodshed.
Yep, I yelled at the TV. I know Mack doesn't call the plays but sheeeesh he might have wanted to check on the playcall.
After watching Kansas State give up 400+ yards combined to Hubbard and Wallace, I'm feeling better about what we're doing on defense. One thing that is to our advantage for OU is just the fact that they haven't a single physical defensive team yet. Hopefully they come in cocky, and we can catch them off guard again.
