He's been really good last season when given the chance to play, even was player of the month. Same this pre-season, he is ready to contribute but for some reason not given the chance by Kovac. It seems Niko still resorts to only playing older guys when his ass is on the line, he's shying away from experiments.
Always the players, same ol Kovac: "Wenn du die individuelle Klasse nicht hast, dann versuchst du halt IRGENDWAS mit Passstafetten, Lücken aufzureißen, das geht aber auf dem Niveau nicht..." For English Guys: Says the individual quality isn't good enough.
They call it the Shopee dance, it's been in their commercials for over a year now, someone their really loves baby shark. I guess they offered enough money and got Ronlado to do this. So no one gonna mention that Barcelona lost last night and The beautiful goal they conceded?.
So seems like we are selling Renato to Lille for 20mil plus boni. Sad about this, he was our best guy in preseason and also had a great stretch last year, but Kovac doesn't choose his starting xi and rotation based on performance of players, it's obvious when you see Müller and Tolisso being started ahead of him. Same with Jerome, he had a hell of a pre-season and seemed determined to prove everyone wrong. But as soon as the season started, he's being benched again by Kovac and Kalle has to make dumb interviews about him having to consider leaving. Just a terrible summer, we were always known to treat our current players in good fashion and without being unfair. Hope we get a fresh start without Uli, Kalle, Kovac and Brazzo as soon as possible.
Kovac yesterday clarified that the media got it wrong, Sanches was fined for not attending practice the day after the match. He's against fining players for voicing their opinion and frustrations.
This needs time but I would be all for limiting VAR to 3 decisions each team. Like with the flag challenge.
Missed penalties have now cost United 5 points in 2 games. Really no excuse to not be at the top with Liverpool right now.
VAR and handball rule get out of control. Kinda glad that Schalke didn't receive those penalties yesterday against Bayern because at some point all they did was shoveling the ball inside the box and then calling for hand, even if the ball wasn't anywhere close. Still, at least two or three of yesterday's incidents have been called lately or at least last year as penalty, so I'm not sure the refs still know what they're actually doing.
It's a shame that completely inept video refs are turning fans against VAR, the system itself would be such a huge help if utilized correctly. They also should change it to the video refs monitoring every heated situation in the penalty area, the current "only review clearly wrong decisions" system is way too fallible and reliant on the human factor (which VAR tries to eliminate, so no idea why you would have the human make the most important decision on whether to trigger var).
