Had to take care of some things so I turned game off when it was 7-4. The bullpen is a definite concern right now. Hope some how some way things work themselves out for the pen by playoff time.
Yes. Very low percentage.but even baltimore has come back from a defector going into the 9th. I bet we are one of the few teams remaining that is 0 for all. Now some of that is due to us not being behind after 8 all that often. But when we are you can turn the lights out.
Nah. But this road trip has hurt our chances at home field. Let’s hope the best team by record for the last couple of months, the Indians, take the yanks to the woodshed in this upcoming series. To bad it isn’t in Cleveland. Then they have a 3 gamer against the dodgers. If we win during that time at least we gain in one of them. Then yanks have a 4 gamer at Fenway. Hopefully the Red Sox help us out. We are 2 down in the loss column to the yanks. So. They have to lose at least two more than us the rest of the way. One would think our soft schedule to close out the year would be on our side. But these last 6 say differently. I am going to think the white Sox was an anomaly. 3 games in 24 hours and you lost a starter. Come on
Teams heading into the 9th inning losing that have not pulled off a win: (This doesn't include extra innings.) Angels (0-56) Astros (0-38) Orioles (0-71) Tigers (0-72) That's it. It doesn't really say a whole lot, but I did this super quick. I will say that in my rapid perusing, only four teams had under 40 games where they headed into the 9th losing: Astros, Dodgers, Twins, Yankees. Most teams were in the 50s or 60s of games where they entered the 9th losing. So, most teams have had more chances to come back in the 9th than the Astros, so they've picked up a few comebacks along the way. I don't think any team that I remember had more than 5 comebacks (the Marlins have 5).
The last two games have been extremely disappointing, some of the worst in the era of the New Astros. Desperately need some upbeat, encouraging performances to follow. It "feels" like our pitching staff is in shambles, hopefully a false impression.
Great news but man it’s going to make me nervous that next start, we CANT afford a re-aggravation....
