also i thought Mclemore signing was kinda sketchy as it does make Eric Gordon expendable, based on him being in his final contract year and how he was sort of bum out by not getting a contract extension lately
I think Daryl is referring to Andre Iguodala, Daryl is laser like focused on Andre not going to the Lakers or Clippers that he hasn't shaved in a month.
How does McLemore make Gordon expendable? Gordon as a Rocket has been our 2nd or 3rd best player and on many nights he was huge in leading us to victory. He is a very underrated defender and his shooting and penetration has been fantastic for the last few years as a Rocket. McLemore is a minimum contract player that currently seems destined to bounce around the rest of his career. He's never been the player Gordon has been and I highly doubt he will even be close to replicating that production. If Gordon trades Morey, it is not because we have McLemore. Rockets do have a decision to make with Gordon, either extend him or trade him so you don't lose him for nothing next summer.
Gordon situation is not getting the run it should due to westbrook coming. Feels like gordon is odd man out in general. I dont see the thread but the current biggest conversation point should be gordon on trade block or what
I think this is a reference to the quote from the press conference, where Morey says that they are never done upgrading roster. Trade could happen before the season or during the season, to me its just a general statement, not that they are working on something specific right now. Time Stamp: 19:15
I doubt it’s gordon unless it’s for an all star in return. We simply can’t afford to lose him for anything less. With Westbrook his shooting becomes even more vital.
How is Gordon the odd man out? He is a great compliment to Harden and Westbrook whether he comes off the bench or starts. He is our most valuable trading chip but he is also our third best player and getting similar value for him will be extremely difficult since his salary is so low.
I agree with you, Trader Morey is always looking for an upgrade and even though we may be wanting AI it appears no one wants to pay MEM price. It would likely have to be a sign-in-trade for Shump, some change and draft pick(s) for us to do the deal. It's interesting that no one else has paid MEM price yet either--with AI injury history, age and salary they will probably have to settle on 1 or 2 2nd RD picks.
No i didnt say he filled gordon shoes, but you make a trade with minny, to get Covington, and Okogie, you talk about an improvement. Gordon probably wants 18 per, and minny can give him that. Covington can lock into that small foward job, brings harden to his natural sg role, and Okogie is some youth off the bench. It would help are team alot with getting more role players, and give minny the lethal shooting guard they need ever since they've lost jimmy/rose. Covington locked in a good contract so....
Problem is, we need (to keep) a lethal shooting guard, what with Westbrook now on the team. Although RoCo is a threat from deep. There is the new-contract-soon thing, but I don’t know if we’d see EGO swapped out for RoCo. Anyway, Daryl’s always talking. Sure, there’ll be an addition somewhere. Always opportunistic.
ego was more of an odd man out with Paul IMO. now he's a perfect fit between harden and Westbrook. the only way to trade gordon, capela, or tucker is if you package 2 and get a star. there are no stars available unless you want to go for love. beal is out of our price range. no one else qualifies as a "big 3" upgrade.
Love to have Covington, but not at the expense of Gordan. We should be thinking more about Aaron Gordan. 3 way with Boston works, Capela to Boston, Gordan to Rockets, Marcus Smart and Chiozza. Boston may have to throw in a draft pick. Rotation of Westbrook, Harden, A. Gordan, PJ, House, E. Gordan, Rivers, Hart/Chandler is pretty darn incredible offensively. Be a little worried about rim protection, although our switching defense leaves Capella out on the perimeter half the time anyway. Orlando needs a PG, Boston wants Capella, and A. Gordan is our dream PF locked up reasonably for 3 years.
Exactly right, take one quote from a leading question and create a headline and accompanying article. Journalism is dead.
BMc replacement for EGo? Uh, no. First let's see Mac make the team. Then 'we' can worry whether he rates p/t. If EGo is a go go then the return IMO better be pretty exciting. Frankly, I keep hoping to hear a 3/$48 extension for Mister Gordo.
