For those wondering: Years added per request. If they go the hard-cap route: $5.7M of the MLE (contract up to 4 years) $3.6M BAE (contract max of 2 years) (veteran minimums) If they avoid the hard cap: $2M of MLE (contract up to 3 years) (veteran minimums) minimums can be max of 2 years. If they avoid the hard cap they could also theoretically re-sign Shumpert using his bird rights to use as a trade piece.
Oh Morey had a horrible off season, but butler wouldn’t help us. Just look at our drop off from ariza. We need depth. The only thing I’m worried about is the fact he doesn’t realize this. He didn’t realize it with melo begging, wanting to give 4 1sts for Butler last year and now this. He also gave way too much for paul
Reality is we are running it back with mostly the same roster that couldn't get out of the 2nd round. All while every team in the West is getting better. Yall gotta stop with this nonsense already
Could you add how man years they can offer on each of these assets as well? What is the maximum contract length each for each of these?
If they do go the hard cap route, they can still use all of both exceptions, fill the remainder of the roster with vet minimums and still not go over the apron, right? They don't have to leave money on the table for either exception, but it means letting Shumpert walk? Well, that should please Fertitta. Not sure which set of options makes them better. Trading EGo and Capela could bring back something like 36.25 in salaries for better players. Plus, Shumpert could be given a 1 yr (more with options) deal at 13 ish per, as an expiring to attract another team's player on a longer deal.
I think they're, i mean, at least about Green, they literally tried to trade for him few months ago, but i think it's likely both players can make more money.
