The best podcast by a comedian has to be tigerbelly. The sleep king Theo von is probably funnier than 90% of whatever is listed on this thread.
Ahaa idk how I missed this, i've seen both episodes he hosted, but I was dying all the way through that. We've been struck by the concept since tom hanks big, so bits dissecting the adult/child swap movies never get old, and this is among the best of them.
I actually used to watch the very early years of road rules/real world/all stars etc. (don't judge) and he was one I always really liked. I don't agree that he is funnier than much of anyone we're talking about here, much less 90%, but he has his moments and I do really like him. Edit- theo that is I'm talking about. btw Kind of looks like a (very) poor man's tom brady. Bobby lee ofc used to watch every madTV episode.
Debating comedians and comedy style is almost like religion or politics. 20 years is a loooooong time in comedy. The culture and zeitgeist change every decade or so. For my money, the funniest comedian (stand-up) over the past 10 years is Jim Gaffigan. Guy makes me laugh like nothing else and his stuff is clean.
Dave and CK are tied for #1, Bill Burr at #3. Louie is going to make an incredible comeback, only he can do it. I listened to a leak of one of his recent shows and I was dying of laughter without any video.
It really is a personal preference thing. I don't find kissing random audience members to be funny. I went to Trevor Noah this weekend at The Woodlands Pavilion. Aside from it being very hot and humid under that canopy, it was a great show. He's a very good stand-up. I forget the name of the opener...a guy from New Jersey. He was hilarious.
I am a fan of BL, as a comedic actor, but that's where it ends. He clearly needs someone writing material for him, and that's completely okay. But those excerpts, man all of that was rough. It's just flailing.
