So does AD go to LA now or do they send him to NY to get two of the top 3 picks (isn’t this a 3 player draft)? I still have a feeling NO doesn’t want to send him to LA and let LeBrons team win.
If the Pelicans were smart, they would parlay this into a winning situation with a swift and complete rebuild. The ship on keeping Anthony Davis has sailed. 1. Draft Zion. 2. Trade Davis to either Celtics for Brown, Tatum, Rozier, 14th pick or Lakers for Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, 4th pick. 3. Trade Holiday for more picks. This would give the Pelicans a great young core of players all on the same timetable. Griffin should take his blessings and move on with a solid rebuild.
oh 100%. they don't even try to hide it anymore. if Davis gets traded from the pels they will basically fold, unless they get Zion to save the franchise. also, the lakers and Lebron not in the playoffs is terrible, so lets give them another top asset to trade for a star. the grizzlies hold onto their pick when it was in danger of going to the Celtics. not only that but they need a star to even stay in business (like the pels without AD) so jump them up to #2. couldn't have worked out better for the NBA.
boston doesn't have anymore potential high picks in their back pocket right? I lost track of how they destroyed that nets deal
Lakers can and will offer the 4th pick with Ingram and Lonzo, but if i'm NOLA i'd take Robinson, Knox and the 3rd pick from New York over that.
Memphis future 1st and that's it i think, and wouldn't be enough anyway, Ainge has to throw in Tatum, that pick and probably more depending on what other teams are willing to offer, but yeah, Brown and a pick isn't going to get it done...and if Irving is gone i think it doesn't even make sense for Boston, they would be left with: Horford Davis Hayward Brown Rozier I mean, not bad, but eh...Davis would still expire in 12 months...
Celtics have the 14th, 20th, 22nd & 51st pick this year Celtics are still owed a Grizzlies pick (Memphis' 1st round pick to Boston protected for selections 1-8 in 2019 and 1-6 in 2020 and unprotected in 2021)
Honestly this was best case scenario once we knew what the top 4 picks were. Even opens up the idea of Clint and whatever plus all our picks for AD. Griffin is a long term thinker he’ll atleast look at the numbers with the idea of Clint and Zion front court since Clint is locked up for 4 more years at a decent price plus I’d imagine 4 first round picks. It’s a long shot but this actually increased our odds by 20% imo and our odds were 1% 30 min ago lol.
Hilarious . I love the idea to randle / Williamson twin attack . If Williamson had great lateral movement you could even play him with AD in that huge frontcourt Williamson at the 3 , randle the 4 , AD the 5 Or trade AD for some good players/ assets and build around randle and Holliday who are both pretty underrated . Eitjer way exciting times for pels fans
