Fuller was projected to go in the first. People here hated him because of his drops and tiny hands

Not worrysome injuries like Clowney's knee though. One broken collarbone because of O'Brien's stupid routes. And two an acl.

The guy from that class you'd compare with Fuller would be Sterling Shephard. Fuller's more explosive but Shephard actually stays on the field. With Coutee and Fuller always being an issue... I might prefer just having a rock solid sneaky guy that you could count on every week.

Giants just signed him to a 4 year $40+ million extension with significant guaranteed money.

I didn't like Fuller at the time because he trapped damn near every catch against his body, and had no catch radius away from his body. And I'm not exaggerating. I watched all the catches of his senior season and there were no more that 5 or 6 catches with his hands all season. I give him credit, he worked really hard to fix it, and when he's on he's a better weapon than I imagined but if you can only count on him for half the season, that's a major issue.

For me, it would feel like gambling to give Fuller long term guaranteed money today. I'd be terrified.

I think we did the right thing in just exercising his fifth year option. He and Hop surely are Top 3 duo in the league.

Taking a stab at the 53 without including any of the UDFA

QB Deshaun Watson, AJ McCarron, Joe Webb
RB Lamar Miller, D'onta Foreman, Buddy Howell
    FB Cullen Gillaspia
    WR1 Deandre Hopkins
    WR2 Will Fuller, Vyncynt Smith
    Slot Keke Coutee, Deandre Carter
    RT Seantrel Henderson, Max Scharping
    RG Zach Fulton
    C Nick Martin, Greg Mancz
    LG Senio Kelemete, Martinas Rankin
LT Tytus Howard, Matt Kalil, Julien Davenport
TE Jordan Thomas, Kahale Warring, Darren Fells
    DE JJ Watt, Angelo Blackson
    DT DJ Reader, Carlos Watkins
    DE Brandon Dunn, Charles Ominehu
    OLB Whitney Mercilus, Brennan Scarlett
    OLB Jadeveon Clowney, Duke Ejiofor
    ILB Benardrick McKinney, Peter Kalambayi
    ILB Zach Cunningham, Dylan Cole
CB Jonathan Joseph, Lonnie Johnson, Johnson Bademosi
CB Bradley Roby, Xavier Crawford, Jermaine Kelly
    NICKEL Aaron Colvin, Briean Body-Calhoun
    SS Tashaun Gipson, Jahleel Addae
    FS Justin Reid
    P Trevor Daniel
    PK Kaimi Fairbarn
    LS Jon Weeks

Looks like they're thin at WR, I don't like the CB group and too many bodies on the line. If everyone stays healthy, either Davenport or Kalil won't make it. Greg Mancz might be on the bubble too. Assuming Ryan Griffin is no longer on the team after his arrest, only one TE has to go. I took Jordan Akins off. It will take some guts to cut a 3rd round pick in year 2 but they can't keep four on the roster.

Not keeping a FB. The RB out Michigan and the WR out of Ohio State will have good shots on the 53 man. They are not keeping 8 CBs (6 most likely). There will be another FS. TE Jordan Atkins is lock to make the team. Fell won't unless they keep 4 TEs. They are not keep 10 Lineman. It will be more like 8 or 9.

And that's the problem. Anyone who thinks the Texans had a good offseason/draft must also think the Texans are smarter than the rest of the team's in the league. Because other teams made the right moves/draft picks.

What a weird compliment, since it applies to every FO in every sport in every offseason ever.

    Hope they're right

Some of those guys will go on injured reserve. I think it much more likely that Aikin suffers an extremely convenient case of turf toe, or a hang nail, or something. There are always guys on that list who are there to stash them, rather than for actual injury. And actually, old man Fells may suffer a legit injury. Wouldn't be surprised to see Kalil fizzle onto IR with an injury.

I would bet the FB at least goes to the practice squad, possibly the later corner, too. And I'll bet they have a laundry list of second hand CB's that they cycle in off the junk pile like last year.

QB- Is Joe Webb really still with the team? smh
RB- I'd rather Karan Higdon than Buddy Howell
WR- Hoping Johnnie Dixon beat out Vyncynt Smith or Deandre Carter
TE- No way Darren Fells make this team. He's a camp body. Texans aren't cutting their 3rd round pick after one season regardless of his age (Akins).
DE- Wish Clowney would move back to his original position.
Nickel- Don't see Boddy-Calhoun making the team. Jermaine Kelly might be "hurt" again as well.

"We just find ways to get better," Watson said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle . "The front office knows exactly what they want, what they want to do with the organization and what we need to do to try to take that next step. I knew exactly what they were going to do in the draft, and what they want to do in the future.

"We drafted two young guys who can come in and compete and love football and want to come in and learn. They're going to have an opportunity to come in and learn from the veteran guys and continue to try to make us better."
