I hope there are no long term issues with his condition. He had brain swelling and surgery to resolve it. I wonder if he can keep on going to Texas even if he can't play.
Malcolm Epps has apparently looked great so far this spring. "Stickum for hands" is how Jeff McCullough describe him. Apparently he's bulked up a bunch, 6'6" 240 is what I read. As of right now he's Johnson's backup at the X-receiver. McCullough also said they've been "chasing Jordan Whittington a lot more than we should." Ingram said JW's pass protection is coming along too.
Yeah, I'd read he'd been battling a sore neck or something. Glad they caught it and hope a year of rehab fixes the problem.
Saw a few clips from scrimmage and Ingram looks like a completely different back out there. Apparently the RBs are having a good spring which is encouraging for them and the OL.
I feel really good about this team. I think they run the table in the regular season, win the big 12 game and make the playoffs. The only position I feel is weak is LB but I imagine we'll be running nickels and dimes a lot. I think my boy Coburn is going to dominate the middle of the line and we'll hopefully get some rising talent on the ends.
The front 6/7 needs to show they can pressure the QB and stop the run. Secondary should be very good.
So 4 OU offensive lineman were drafted which is nuts. I think Charles will do well in the NFL. Lil Jordan might really shine in New Orleans where there should be a lot of receptions going around. I think Johnson might do well with the Cheifs as well.
LJH couldn’t have gone to a better situation but not sure I see too many of our UDFA outside Gary Johnson making rosters unfortunately. Looking forward to seeing Omenihu in a Texans uni.
Looking around the big 12 in draft losses -OU had 4 offensive linemen drafted by the 4th round. That's nuts. Also lost their best WR and Murray obviously. -TCU lost 2 good defensive players in their front 7. -Iowa St lost their starting RB and WR who both had monster 2018s -West Virginia lost QB Grier and 3 other good offensive players -Baylor lost high performing WR Hurd. I would think OU would take a step back next year but they have freaking Jalen Hurts coming in. Hopefully the o-line turnover will make a difference I think Baylor will have a really good year.
Seems a little slow but it'll pickup in the fall. There is a stud 5* CB from Arizona they are going hard after. Hopefully a good showing by DBU in the fall will bring him in. The good news is they already got their QB committed and 3 offensive linemen along with another RB. Seems like it's going to be a big year for out of state schools getting Texas high school football players.
They also have a good shot at LB Florida Grad Transfer Kylan Johnson. He only had 7 solo tackles last year (27 total) but any depth at LB is good depth.
I got exited about all the pretty lady ASU fans that will be coming to Austin until I realized that they are currently 4 years old. I like having a round robin conference schedule but it sure would be nice to have 4 non conference games again.
