went to Loro in Austin during SXSW, and it was fantastic. https://www.texasmonthly.com/bbq/to..._campaign=Book Social&utm_content=bbqmidterms
Why has Franklin's become less well regarded? Have they gotten worse or has the competition gotten that much better?
Maybe I'm not understanding, but it looks like the city is right above each blurb. BTW, smoked octopus at Harlem Road BBQ in Richmond and garlic parmesan ribs at Smoke Sessions in Royse City sound crazy at a Texas BBQ joint, but I'd give them a try. lol. Smoke Sessions may be worth a try since it's not too far away from me.
Closest one to me is Black Board in Sisterdale, will have to check it out sometime. It's really great. Not sure if it's better than Kemuri Tatsu-ya or not, they're similar but different. This is just new restaurants opened in the past couple of years. He's one of the 2 principals at Loro and Franklin's is just as well-regarded as ever. He's got a steak cookbook coming out soon too, which could be interesting. Look above the name of the restaurant, it is indeed easy to overlook.
No, no, no! Panther City BBQ is my secret. They have way better brisket than Heim. Now it's going to sell out in 15 minutes. Here is a picture of the brisket.
No reason to be impressed by Heim. Get to Panther City right when it opens at 11:00 am to have your pick of the meat.
This is for best NEW bbq not overall This is not the best 25 overall The last time I checked it was still amazing. The quality control is second to none there
