odd poll...I'd do 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, etc and fwiw, the Committee to Make Last 2 Games More Exciting put out this PSA
I'm assuming that if he gets 101....WE WILL TAKE HIM OUT OF THE GAME! Probably should have put 104 to account for a 4-point play though.
I'll say 27 on not-great efficiency. The Thunder defend him as well as anybody. He'll get his buckets though.
I'm not thinking for once. I'm hoping. I want to see him get MVP and full credit for topping Kobe....on super great efficiency. I can only dream of a Wilt record shattering performance.
I absolutely want Harden go get 30+ pts to get to 36.0+ PPG for the season. Harden needs 21 pts to get to 2800 total pts for a season. But 36.0 PPG will key. Needs 30.
Tbh i just want to win this game, if James can get his 30 to average 36 for the season that would the cherry on top, if he's on fire i think he can go for 30 or more fairly easy.
A sister question to this one would be, how many points do you think he needs to score to secure the MVP over GIannis? If he put up a 70 spot, would that do it? Does he have to break Kobe's 81? What about 50+? What's your thoughts on how many points it would take for him to break the MVP voters to his side? I have to believe if he scored 100 points tonight that the MVP battle would be over. He'd have it. I have to believe if he scored 81 plus he'd have it too. I'd think that 60+ would also do it. And I think a 50+ triple double would do it. And I think a 40+/20/20 triple double would do it too. (as long as those triple doubles didn't have double-digit turnovers.........) What type of performance does Harden need tonight to turn all the MVP discussion into all about him???
The Rockets want to win the game. I expect the same intensity and urgency that we saw in the Clippers game. And by doing that, I believe that will be with Harden having a strong 30+ point game.
James Harden final game score watch: Harden has 2779 points now. Ranked 10 in single season total points. Played 77 games, 60+ twice, 50+ 9 times, 40+ 28 times, 30+ 56 times. For the final game in OKC, he needs: - 16 pts from 2795, tied with his first 3 seasons scoring total in OKC - 21 pts from 2800, to be the first ever to have 2800/500/500 in a single season - 29 pts to average 36, first ever to have 36/7 - 30 pts to have the most 30+ games in a season, overpass Kobe - 43 pts to tie Kareem at 9th on single season total score - 50 pts to tie Jordan on most 50 point games in a season, only behind Wilt - 52 pts to tie Bob McAdoo at 8th on single season total score - 53 pts to reach 2832, ties Kobe at 7th on single season total score - 89 pts to reach 2868, ties Jordan at 6th on single season total score - 169 pts to - 254 pts ... ... I say go get 30 if OKC don't put up with a fight. If they show some resistance, drop the 53 bomb.
100+ easy MVP Better Kobes 81, easy MVP 70+pts, additional momentum for MVP but not easy win. 60+pts, doubt he gets any additionally momentum...
that won't matter as much as getting 2nd seed would. 30pts to retain 36ppg, plus 2nd seed will sway some voters but 60pts and Denver keeps winning, won't work as well.
