A question about the use of "FIFY" and editing someones words you quote came up in another thread. @justtxyank gave some clarification about how he views the acceptable use of it. I am putting his reply below so everyone can see it. Link to the thread in case anyone is curious (post #178). http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...dia-and-democrats.297343/page-9#post-12313484
I don't like it because you really can't reply to someone when they do that. So I was trying to make a point. Glad you recognized it as fun. Sadly someone couldn't take a joke (ahhhh-chuda).
Ok. My post want meant as an opportunity to gig him. I think there is a decent chance if y'all ever met over a beer (or tea or water, whatever), you both might find each other pretty interesting even if you disagree on politics.
If more people got to know other people with dissimilar views, it may be a disaster or people may get to understand each other and quit demonizing each other even if they don't agree. Sometimes people exposed to real humans with different frames of reference actually may change their minds on some issues. Or everyone can just treat each other like assholes. Everyone has a preference.
The problem is that if you're part of the "Trump base" then you're most likely an ******* already and quite proud of it. That's pretty much where the debate is right now in case you haven't noticed.
My ribbing of dachuda had nothing to do with his views and everything to do with his attitude. Believe it or not I already have many Trump supporters in my life who I drink with and eat with. A lot of my friend's parents for instance. But when it comes to him, I wouldn't enjoy anyone - liberal or conservative - with that kind of personality.
