There is something about this guy that teams just don't like. The very first player taken in the draft, and then he plays for four teams in four years? WTF? Teams quickly decided they didn't want him. Even this year in the g-league he's only started 7 of 25 games. Lots of players put up impressive numbers in the G-league. Number one pick, four teams in four years. Considering he was only 20yrs old when he entered the NBA you would think that one of those teams would keep him to see if he could development into something. The NBA knows something about this guy that we don't.
Anthony Randolph world normally be on this list. But he's knee deep in the Final Four with Real. Just not possible to sign him. Erik Murphy He's playing in Euro Cup. Might be an easy buyout. Lights out shooting center. A cheap Rybo. Not a good defender. But..... he can shoot big time.
Sure, I'll take him but good luck getting any playing time. I'd really love to delve into this topic of which guy gets to sit on the end of the bench with you @basketballholic but I have some paint to watch dry.
maybe... I'd rather get somebody over 6'8 that has the ability to bang around in the paint... as a situational role player... but he may have the muscle to do the job...
Don't be so hasty. The Rockets have had great luck with former top-10-pick reclamation projects: Stromile, T-Rob, Thabeet, Jonny Flynn, Brandan Wright, Michael Beasley, Brandon Knight, T-Will, MCW (okay, those last two were #11s, close enough).
Perhaps he was 3 years away from being 3 years away from being able to be a productive player? Dont big men usually take longer to develop anyways?
Big-man #1 picks who don't develop in a year or two rarely will prove their worth as #1 picks. Michael Olowokandi, Kent Benson come to mind. Even Kwame Brown, Pervis Ellison and Joe Barry Carroll, who had a few good years, never lived up to their #1s.
Bennett is still young and we all know Daryl's fascination with gambling on reclamation projects in failed lottery picks. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
Rob Gronkowski has an open schedule. He could be an enforcer in a GSW series. Get a few flagrants then hang up his basketball shoes. Then probably go to WWE.
Hey, @BimaThug , here’s another case of cfnet quoting Spotrac’s critically wrong team salary situation. Basketballholic, Bima says we are currently $32k OVER the tax line when counting Capela’s two Likely Incentives of $1.5m — the $1m WCF and the $500k Dreb%. So, if he fails at both individual achievements, we are $468k under, not $956k.
Oh, man. ‘Holc’s propensity to misspell via phone auto-correct finally landed a Weiner Ridonkulous That’s a cfnet meme keeper!
D is question mark but I'm more concerned about what busted him out of NBA in first place - mental fortitude and work ethic. Is he still mentally and physically soft when playing with big boys?
