I know some of you always liked that he was "normal" and "a moderate." I never cared for him, but I respected his views. And then I got into the food writing game. And was doing well enough (it was a hobby) I was going from getting offers from Thrillist, Eater, and other now extinct websites to being blackballed. (Balke's wife is the editor of the Houston Press and I've called him out before about it) Now this dude is writing food stuff for HP. A person I was on social media posted his new article about a sandwich he wrote about and I replied that, while Jeff was great at talking Rockets, food had never been his thing & he had no business talking about food. She responded with, "why not?" and linked Balke. He pretended he didn't know me and he hadn't been on this site in 15 years, my knowledge of he & I equated to me saying we were "war buddies" and said he left this website "for reasons I didn't know." Whatever. I called him out & said we were never close, but I had known him for 20 years. And then both he & his friend blocked me. Awesome guy. I'm glad he's gone.
The fact that he called this site out? This doesn't worry me. I did look, and he hasn't posted in 5 years and he personally said "things" made that happen. I'm not wrong.

Serious question. Is there a medical/psychological term for this pathological lack of self awareness?
