[Long-winded Rant] South Africa: An Omen For America?

Cry baby. Do not get so triggered. It is not like he is someone I say is the ultimate source of info. The video is actually pretty well done.

 

So if I post a really well produced video by Quannel X or Stalin, The Clinton Foundation or some other conservative chum that you hate, you'll be all, "Cool, that was really well done! Totes a great video!"

Also, it's kinda sad that tsking issue with people that advocate white supremacism and racial segregation is considered a liberal political bias.

I do not know the context of what you reference. Nazi stuff is not really my thing bro. Is he a nazi? I did not know that. Anyway I just saw it and it had interesting info. You are really over reacting. Proving my point. Most of the main arguments on here are mostly based on demonization and avoiding the logic if what is taking place. I cannot be expected to vet everything some other person says so you can take your guilt by association and shove it.

 

Taking land because someone has the wrong color of skin is wrong... prove me wrong.

Ok there is a good point. Punish then with a proper trial and with evidence of this. If they are alive then let the law do its job.

 

Yeah but we know this won't be limited to people who recently stole it and can be proven. The leaders cannot even promise to not let this turn to genocide.

Apartheid was a post independence legal framework that made it totally legal to steal land as long as the thief was white and the aggrieved party was black.

 

I just said put them in court so people with proof their land was taken unjustly can get it back. More fair than stealing it from people because of the skin color.

 

The seizures all take place via legal action, and land owners are able to challenge the seizure in South African courts.

They don't just randomly hunt down white people and lynch them for being white.

 

ooops, it is bad whenever it is done, I agree.....but when you invade a country and surpress a people for their skin color, don't be shocked when that changes that there is some ill will that was harbored during that period.

So assume this takes place as described. Who will get the land? Will it be farmed? Do they have the skills or will it be Zimbabwe 2.0? Will politicians not hand land to friends as political favors? What do you think based on history?

 

No, you talked about them taking back land as if it was ages ago, it was 24 years ago. Not ages. Comparing it to any other historical situation is laughable when it was just 24 years ago.

As for the video, my point is this. You all are being used by actual literal, by the very term, racists. Like Black Pigeon here. Most of the people that have interest in SA other than actual South Africans are just racists trying to make a false equivalence to what happened to the Native Americans and this. Ironically enough, of course, is that the Natives were actually given land back.

I'm not attacking you and saying you are a racist like that video creator, but you have to be cognizant of your sources. Of course you think his points are well served, he's not going to be truthful about them.

It is, but that's not what is happening. They are not evicting private home owners, the government is seizing land that was acquired during apartheid, they have tried to buy it back from these people, but prices are not agreed upon, the process has been super slow and people want it to hurry up and so they are now arguing that the government should just take it without compensation.

As for the people who are having their land taken away, I mean, that does suck...but if you acquire something illegally you don't get to pass it down to your children. You can't do it in America and you can't do it in any country with any kind of strong justice system. I can't make millions off of selling drugs, get caught, then pass it on to my children with the excuse of "Well, it was in the past!"

With all of that said. The history of apartheid is a tumor upon that country. What they are doing is going to harm the country financially but doing nothing and ignoring the history and the tumor would only make things worse, as you see, there's a lot of animosity on both sides, and one side is a lot bigger than the other. The land reform is a warning, a peaceful warning, that these people just won't get to profit off of the history of apartheid. That sucks for the individual, but do not forget that there are many people STILL LIVING that were denied land because of it.

 

A lot of the land was not taken illegally.. you do realize the first step in communist hell holes is to confiscate property don't you? You need to go read some history and get your facts straight. I am sure all of it was 24 years ago eh? This is an issue for courts, not socialist land grabbing. You can say oh that sucks but history, but you are ignorant of even that.

 

I would love to hear your history of Southern Africa. Who, exactly, did the Zulus take it from, and when did this occur?
