Different injuries. One was a broken leg bone and the other was pretty much a complete destruction of his ankle.

He outplayed Porter Jr for half the year last year and many fans wanted him to replace him because his effort level was always there unlike Porter Jr. It was only once he had a death in the family combined with his struggles with depression that slowed him late last year...but the kid has lots of athleticism and is a noted hard worker - he has every bit the tools to be the elite 3 & d guy that Porter jr got paid to be.

Was PG being traded to another team to take on a recovering player's salary?

Interesting concept, but with some of their younger players also getting closer to their upcoming mega-deals, I would think Boston would be unable to go all-in on free agents. Now what would be crazy is if they made a Godfather offer of picks + assets like Jaylen Brown to Golden State at the deadline. Would Golden State take that offer? Would KD accept that trade?

I think Ainge would rather aim those assets at New Orleans for AD rather than Durant.

even if that was true, that doesn't mean hes going to get some big contract. OP is by far the better player. I don't see him being any different than an ennis type player. much rather have a bunch of other guys whose names have been thrown around, for what the rockets really need at this point. if you're looking for tools, the rockets can just go find another young gary clark coming out of college. oubre has been in the league going on 4 years with minimal progress. they need proven players

They get frustrated in Washington because they want Porter to take over games and attack and create offense instead of being a shooter.

Oh well, I can live with that!

Oubre does NOT have the potential to be the offensive player that Porter is though. He may be more versatile with his offensive game, but he'll never shoot like Porter. Porter comes close to 60% EFG%, Oubre hasn't gotten within 10 points of 50% yet.

Porter was 17th in the NBA in EFG% last year and 5th the year before that.

For reference, the only non-big men above him last year were Curry, Joe Harris, Joe Ingles, Klay, Lebron and ETwaun Moore. The year before that there were NO players other than dunking centers above him.

Seriously, Oubre's best shooting year was 34% from 3. Maybe there is upside there, but he isn't an elite 3 and D guy without being elite at the 3 part of that equation.

In the Otto Porter Movement, we consider every member as a LEADER because we have a mission to spread the gospel of the former Hoya.

Utah was better last year without him. LMAO that he made Utah. Karl Malone and John Stockton made Utah. Then Deron WIlliams and Carlos Boozer. WTF did Hayward ever do for Utah. Did they ever win one playoff series.... That says a whole lot about his impact. He is a good player but paying him 31 million or 1/3 of the salary cap means you will never win a championship. There are a lot of good players out there that want Max money, you have to decide who is worth the Max and if you don't have one of those 5-10 players you gotta cut your losses.

I am glad we didn't get Butler because I don't think he's worth the max either.
I wished we let CP3 walk cuz he will not be worth his contract for much longer.

We are a band of brothers and anyone that truly believes in this 3&D messiah can also claim to be a co-founder of the OPM.

To all that are on the fence of wanting to be a part of this glorious movement--we consider one another equals and our footing within this group is as round, as consistent, and as equally distributed as the 3&D messiah's shot chart:

Agreed, but I can see Ainge pivoting to KD if the Pelicans balk.
