we didn't run any play actions off first down......

If you try to run a play action on 2nd and 11 it doesn't work.

I just want to know why we only gave DT 1 screen pass when apparently he’s great at them and he was very successful today.

I understand variance and mixing it up but seriously why not try it again?

Defense started playing up on him (and all the WR's) on the line.... which usually opens up the deeper routes, but protection was still iffy (and Watson may have played it safe and not forced throws to risk the INT).

    27 carries for 60 yards.

They ran a RB on 9 out of 10 first-and-10s in the 2nd half.

The Rams are one team. There’s other good offenses that operate differently.

Moreover as I said there’s litany if great ways to have a great offense but if it is really great you’re probably good st both running, passing and blocking and catching and yards after catch and breaking tackles and yada yada.

The Rams aren’t great offensively just because they run the ball.... to set up the pass.

And most importantly... the Texans aren’t running to set up the pass. It’s not working. If you can do it than sure, why not. Chop off 4-6 yard runs most plays and pass, don’t pass, whatever. That’s not what’s happening here. They weren’t good running or passing.

Their most successful drive start to finish was the opening one. They had a successful 9 yard first down run, and two very successful major yardage first down throws, and a 2 yard first down run on their 4 first downs.

Their next drive which ended up being a turnover on downs was one of their other better drives of the half until the end. They were more pass heavy in first down in this drive.

B’Ob got conservative after that. He wasn’t trying to use the run to set up the pass. He was trying to use the run to do what he said he was trying to do. Play conservatively.

    It’s straight from his mouth.

He plays to not lose the game. That’s just his nature as a coach at the moment.

It’s worked the last 6 weeks. Barely in most weeks. It didn’t work the first 3 weeks. Barely in some of those as well. Maybe it’s the right approach considering the talent in the team. I don’t know.

Except I do know when I’ve seen him and then open it up a bit more it seems to work... even though there is the occasional turnover.

The one or two times they did, the line didn't hold protection long enough, so Watson either was sacked or had to escape pressure.

Texans def stole one in Denver today, but it’s about time that the pendulum starts to swing in thier favor. 11 wins is well within the realm of possibilities. Get healthy over the bye and keep riding the wave.

My, oh my. Little did I know how closely this game would mirror that playoff game in Denver in 1992. Unbelievable. Just like that game in the early 90s, today Denver gets the ball back with a couple minutes and a field goal wins in. Converts two fourth downs just like in '92, and sets us up for another crushing defeat. I walked outside to the grill and watched that kick from there so I wouldn't have to hear the crowd and announcers after another heartbreaking loss. Except this time, they miss the field goal and Houston wins. What a game, and what a way to exorcise the demons from that terrible Sunday 26 years ago. Great, great game.
