enjoying it a lot so far and i'm not typically a fan of horror.... it isn't wet yourself scary but it hits the right spots from a supernatural perspective while still maintaining some dark "real world" themes. i'll probably finish it this weekend. btw big mouth is ******* incredible. i started it last saturday and finished both seasons last night.
I'm with you and there is good news: The showrunner said the story of the Crain family is done whether the show returns or not.
I'm not finished yet, but I agree/d with everything you've said, except I did actually gasp out loud for the first time ever in my entire life at one point. Never had that happen. It's weird. I'm still not over it, lulz. So, now, I cant agree with the "isn't wet yourself scary" part. I got "got".
Finished it a few days ago...was really good. Although, maybe I missed it but, Spoiler Did they ever discuss why the house was haunted? I mean, I get bad stuff happened...but bad stuff happens in a lot of places and there aren't thousands of haunted places in this World...I dunno. Also, besides maybe a prequel, or someone obtaining the house from Steve (who's like the 'protector' and wouldn't give it away) I can't see how a season 2 is possible.
Am I reaching or was episode 6 one of the most quality episodes in a series in quite some time? Outstanding camera work, outstanding acting too. Takes a break from the spooks and whatnot and focuses on the actual demons the characters go through. Also the ending left me heartbroken and I never say that about any show.
The best Scene imo was Spoiler The Reveal that she was actually the bent neck woman falling through time to her previous selves I though that was fantastic . .sad . . .and creepy Though I kind of figured it out an episode earlier than reveals. Rocket River
That was an amazing episode, and it's interesting to hear how they made it. That and Episode 5 were my favorites of the series. But as much as I loved the show, the finale, and really the final two episodes, were a bit anti-climactic. That and some of the monologues being a little too long are my only minor complaints.
Yeah I wasn't feeling the ending as much, felt sort of a let down but after watching episode 6 there was no way possible the ending could top that.
Can you imagine if they had gone with the darker ending?? Spoiler https://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/Haunting-Hill-House-Season-1-Alternate-Ending-45445580
Wife and I finished this week. It was really well done but I never found it terribly scary, reminded me a bit of the movie The Others and The Orphanage less than the original movie or book.
Spoiler Would've been a great set up for season 2. I wonder how many people would've caught that if it was done. I can imagine that 2 year scene with the window in the background and then flashing to the same window of all the other iterations of the room.
This was the best horror tv series I’ve seen since the first season of American horror Story, As far as horror tv shows... The River had some scenes that’d make you jump but the show got canceled after the first season. Tv/movies never scare me, which is weird because I’m a wuss. Maybe there’s something wrong with me.
