ANOTHER FANTASTIC THREAD!!!! I HOPE WE KEEP LOSING SO WE CAN KEEP READING THESE FANTASTIC THREADS!!!!!
Melo isn't getting nearly the amount of "wide open" looks I anticipated. Seems like far too often he's out on the wing with another player only a few feet away in the corner. It's much tougher to kick it out to the wing off of dribble penetration, would rather see Melo hanging out in the corner.
While I do not condone yet another thread on the subject matter, when it comes to the subject matter itself,
Not sure what some of yall are seeing, I'm pleasantly surprised with Melo so far. I have always been a big Melo doubter, wasn't really happy we traded for him. So far he has looked very competent out there. Attitude seems pretty good, not complaining about coming off the bench. Honestly seems to have turned a page as his ego is concerned (I know it's early). He is putting forth a serious effort on defense and really putting in work on rebounds. His shot release is super quick and we all know he has a pure J, which is exactly what we need him for. He is not demanding the ball and is playing his role very nicely. Sure, his numbers aren't there yet but this indicates unselfishness. Only complaint is the long 2s which seem to be hardwired in his mind, but cp3 and Beard will help fix that. Only 3 games in, and one of those with no cp3. Watch, about 10 games in when he has developed a rythym with cp3 and Harden, he will have some really nice games. TLDR version: Melo is doing his job nicely, let's give it a few more games before calling him trash.
I agree that Ennis and MCW are trash, but not Melo. Melo comes here to score not to defend. Melo is completely trash if you don't give him a starter identity and "free to shoot".
feel free to check the countless other threads. its not like its been discussed over and over and over. guess you need it for the 4th time over and maybe more
Ennis was born in this way: weak upper body and easy to push around. slow first step to play defense Melo has a solid upper body ....
I think that Melo should be starting. I'm not sure what the use of bringing him and EG off the bench is. Let Melo start like he wants and let EG play his 6th man role
Who is the defensive designer for this team? Game 1: Melo vs Randle Game 2: Melo vs Kuzma Game 3: Melo vs Harrell These guys are average 23 years old, bigger, quicker and stronger than Melo. They can easily destroy Melo.
