I don't think this is a joke. William Shatner doing a Christmas album, with guest performers.

Gotta Burt Steele vibe going on, no?

    Set phasers to jolly.

The legendary actor and musician William Shatner is giving us another reason to be excited about the holiday season. Shatner tweeted the Amazon link to pre-order his first upcoming record: Shatner Claus: The Christmas Album. You can add the self-described godfather of dramatic musical interpretation's album digital audio, CD, or vinyl in your letter to the North Pole. With vinyl record sales on the constant rise, it's exciting to see if this will find Shatner Claus' sleigh riding its way to the top of the Billboard charts.

The track list includes such classics as "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," and "Feliz Navidad." Shatner has enlisted stellar musicians to back him up. Expect to hear Henry Rollins, Billy Gibbons, Judy Collins, Brad Paisley, Rick Wakeman, Iggy Pop, Todd Rundgren, Joe Louis Walker, and more of Santa's favorite performers.

Do you think this will live up to Shatner's previous cover albums like Seeking Major Tom and Has Been ⸺ or will this be a lump of coal in our stockings? Beam up your comments below!

Bravo! Another epic effort by Bill to bring joy to the masses. Those are some big names working on it with him. I'm so excited! Judy Collins, Todd Rundgren, Rick Wakeman - what's not to like?

(why does he do this stuff? he doesn't need the money. I think he's seriously trying to uplift somebody)

It's awesome to say you want to make a notorious album and then do it without giving any ****s about it.

Part of my collection! I like the classics from the 1970's and hated the switch to video tape from film. The first half of Boogie Nights brilliantly captures the spirit of the era. The second half depressingly captures the spirit of what happened next. Walburg's character was obviously based on the actor who played Mr. Wadd, famous for the most absurdly gigantic - well, I won't go into detail. Check out his scene (not as "Johnny") in Taxi Girls. Worth the price of the flick, if you like that stuff (and she was stuffed! she also looks a lot like my significant other at that age).

Uh, to stay on topic - Merry Christmas, Bill!
