Then I suppose the question is whether he's the sort of person that fights that within himself or the sort of person that leans into that. I'm going to assume it's the former based on what I've seen from him. I hope I'm right.
Don't think I've ever had a worse sports opinion than thinking that Bregman was expendable last year.
Race is a cultural construct; we are physiologically 99.999999 the same. In fact, there is more variance within "racial categories" than between. I have more Melanin in my skin than Curry and Thompson combined. Calling people racist is a political tactic not a reflection of reality. There was a White Supremest "national" meeting recently with less than a hundred persons in attendance. I have met two to three "real" racists in my lifetime. Most people could care less. I like who I like, it doesn't matter what they "look" like.
Wasn't meaning to imply he might be a racist, but maybe as a 16 year old he could have tweeted out a gay slur, a rap lyric or something like that. He doesn't seem Cosart level dumb but who knows.
Bregman was the 2nd overall pick (meaning teams vetted him thoroughly), and is clearly trying to brand himself. Anything incriminating he may have had is long gone. Correa's in a similar boat. I'm not gonna pretend to actually know these guys character beneath the surface, but externally they are pretty well PR trained. These Hader tweets still existing is incomprehensibly stupid. Twitter history has to be public relations 101 these days.
I don’t understand how teams don’t have an intern or some low level PR position where they’ve been instructed to dig into old social media posts, etc. of their players. Just don’t get how this happens.
Yeah, that was fun. The Stros made if funner. I don't usually watch any ASG, but I watched that one and I'm glad I did.
Add to that: ROY Carlos Correa 3x NFL Defensive MVP JJ Watt NBA MVP James Harden This is the Golden Age of Houston sports.
Hot damn ... HOUSTON went b2b game-winning HRs, in extra-innings, under the national spotlight of an ASG. Hakeem quad-double, Harden 60-point tri-dub, and 22-game winning streak type things.
