Sad news for the Dodgers regarding Seager but they weren't doing anything this year anyways IMO. we broke them. but i've been firm on the belief that they overachieved last year and it obviously looks that way this year. justin turner isn't enough to make THAT much of a difference in their offensive woes. grandal is playing out of his mind (will regress) and he and kemp have probably been their 2 best hitters. and their pitching is trash/inconsistent, especially their bullpen. just lol @ vaunted bullpen. kenley is either washed or hiding an injury though, his velo has taken a hit this year. even kersh has been hit around this year. in the games i've watched, his curveball hasn't been breaking like normal. i'm guessing they're going to target machado.
Bautista's slide a couple years ago was less egregious than this and Odor punched him for it. Not sure I dislike a player more than him.
Umps suspended for remainder of season. No word on if either is related to Angel Hernandez. https://www.milb.com/lmb/news/sanciones-a-umpires-de-la-cuarteta-8/c-286388150
Couple of really interesting games last night: Dan Poncedeleon of the Cards comes back from brain surgery (had his skull fractured by a LD while in the minors) to throw 7 no-hit innings in his MLB debut; Bud Norris blows the no-no in the 9th with a game tying solo homer then loads the bases and gives up a walk off single to lose 2-1 Yanks-Rays was a fun game. Gary Sanchez once again proves that he is just a pretty terrible baseball player when he's not hitting HRs. He half-assed running after a PB that allowed a runner to score from 2B. Then Yanks down 7-6 in the 9th, bases loaded 2 outs, Sanchez hits a grounder to the shifted 2B who flips to the SS but the runner beats the SS to the bag...howevah! Sanchez is just jogging his ass down to 1B and the fielder had plenty of time to throw him out, game over.
