Incorrect. Trevor Ariza was third on the team in total minutes played last season behind James Harden and PJ Tucker.
Sometimes "rankings" don't tell an entire picture. Watch Golden States offense, then watch ours. If you think that we had a better offense than GS then I just cannot help you.
Harden and the rockets brought new life to J SMOOVE when he had hit rock bottom and detroit fans turned on him, marcus thornton a chucker, came to h town and looked like ray allen playing next to bearden, that boy beasley was icy hot playing with the rockets. Harden will elevate melo to the player we all know he can be. Melo wants to be here. he will show the world last year dont mean ****. Also...need i even mention...cp3?!?!?!??!?!?!??!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!
Ariza is a damn solid role player but the guy is so limited and like melo, he is also aging. Ariza will look like a fish out of water if the suns want him to have a bigger role on the offensive side of the ball. would love for him to end his career with us off the bench though. melo is going to look great next to harden
that one game he did lol, maybe against the clippers? but you know what im sayin he looked serviceable here and pretty damn ok on offense
Cap/Tax question: if OKC stretch Melo I believe there will be a $9million hit each year on their cap for the next 3 years. If we offer Melo the $5million MLE for the next 3 years would it reduce OKC cap hit to just $4million each year?
the idea is right. bad execution. Money we pay Melo comes off the money OKC is paying Melo. It is not 1 to 1 though. If Melo is stretched (9M) and we pay him (5M). The 5M*X comes off the 9M, where X is the factor I don't remember. It is true for whoever pays Melo what ever amount while OKC has him stretched.
Cyber confirmed that Melo will choose the Rockets in his thread. Just waiting on the Thunder to buy him out now.
No, I said total minutes... not minutes per game. The person I was responding to said Trevor Ariza played more minutes than anyone last season. He did not. He played the 3rd most.
Melo will probably sign a 1 year 4.4 mill deal (allowing us to sign Melton to a 3 year). Leaving Melo's cap hit at 7.8 over the next 3 years for OKC. Even if we did get Melo to sign a multi-year deal, he has no incentive to give up anything more to OKC then what he would make back this season.
Melo won in High School where his colors were red, black and yellow He won in college where his color was orange(a child of red) Now he'll win his NBA title wearing red It Was Written.
The trade that makes sense for all parties is Melo to Houston Anderson to Sacramento along with two picks, one from us and one from OKC Nanu and a euro stash player from Sacramento to okc. This allows okc to escape the whole Melo contract by giving up a first round pick. That's a lot of savings over waiving and stretching.
