And the point will be just as valid. Astros figured out how to pack their house on a regular season game on a weeknight. Rockets haven't figured out how to fill the lower bowl in a critical Western Conference semifinal playoff game.
win a championship, give out rings results would be the exact same. you ever go to giveaway nights like harden bobbleheads. notice how the TC gets people lined up early to get them. what a coincidence
The Astros screwed a lot of people who bought those SGA rings for $450 each after the first giveaway. Why not tell the customers there would be multiple giveaways? I couldn't see paying that much for a ring and decided to wait till prices came down. Got lucky and bought tickets for the 2nd game and got to see my first back to back to back homeruns in person. I bought a ring online with Altuve on it for $25. It looks dull compared to the SGA rings. I don't know if I'm correct on this but the SGA rings given out at the minor league games look exactly like the ones at MMP. So we are looking at over 200,000 of these things in circulation?
Quite a few of us could have told you there would be more giveaways. If they told you beforehand, there would be no rush to scoop up the rings the first time out. It's only a draw if every time could be the last time. No way they were gonna leave that free money on the table.
A little bird, who has been involved with organizing the others, told me that they are thinking about another giveaway Wed Aug 15 vs the Rockies. Totally unofficial at this point, worst case, you get to go see a game.
There's definitely going to be at least one more, probably after school is back in August/September when attendance predictably takes a dip for weekday games.
You looking to make money on them? lol. They are cheap keepsakes. They can give away a Million if they like.
Awesome - just bought two tickets to this game. Been meaning to go to a game this season when my schedule permits regardless if this ends up happening or not. Thanks a bunch!
I hope so. In memory of a 2015 team trying to have a ring night on 8/25/15 for a 2017 World Series Ring. https://www.google.com/amp/www.sand...17-championship-ring-2015mar26-story,amp.html Mind boggling.
Are the giveaway rings worth $450 ea? I'm going to assume not...so how did the Astros make people pay that amount for replica rings?
