Late-inning comebacks with offensive explosions breeds invincible thoughts. Last 16 games, Astros pitching has allowed more than 2 runs only TWICE -- 5 and 3.
I became less frustrated in the 8th and 9th... for whatever reason late scoring seems to be a trend lately.
Went to see Solo last night, score was 2-0 when the movie started, thought my eyes were deceiving me when I checked the score after the movie. The dominant starting pitching has warped some fans minds on what a good start is. Keuchel giving up 2 runs in 6 innings against an above average offense is quite good.
Indians are nothing special. Easy work. Must sting to know they blew a 3-1 World Series and then had the yanks go in dry the next year to close their window.
Among the 59 AL starters with 40+ IP Keuchel is 23rd in ERA (#21/22? Ohtani/Hamels #24/25? Francisco Liriano/Gausman). 7th in IP. 14th in QS%. They've scored 1 run in 4 of his 6 losses, been shutout in another. He gave up 1 & 2 runs in his 2 no decisions and the Stros won both. He hasn't been nearly as dominant as he was to start out last year, and he's obviously their 4th or 5th best starter, but he's been getting way too much grief around here.
Unfortunately for Keuchel is he is the one guy on the team who isn't approaching Cy Young consideration LOL. He is a great pitcher and may be the Astros 5th best starter. Houston barring injury should be a huge favorite to repeat.
Still trolling down the tracks: "We had a really good energy in the last three innings," Marwin Gonzalez said. "We're playing 100 percent baseball. We never give up. They have good pitching, and they shut us down for seven innings, but that's what this team is capable of doing, and that's what's special about this team. We can do damage in one or two innings." "It seems like until we see the 27th out against us, we're going to keep playing," Altuve said. "We can hit homers with Springer, Bregman, Marwin. We can bunt. We can play defense. That's why this team is special: We do a little bit of everything." https://www.mlb.com/astros/news/jose-altuve-sparks-late-rally-in-astros-rout/c-278280996
I agree. I thought I saw that as well, but then I read that his 51 game streak broke Metzger’s 50 game streak. Pause Just re googled, and now I see where 60 beat 59, so I’m going with that.
