First... And to address the larger question ... trump has a bad habit of over-promising and under-delivering.
And this... trump reports the meeting went "very well"... but had a sense he better pull back expectations to set a lower bar.
The meeting will obviously not take place in either Korea. It has to take place in China. I assume this is Kim trying to go behind the US's back in order to broker a deal with China and then declare victory, or he wants to make sure that China controls the procedure.
Is that real? I’m seriously asking. Edit: it sounds exactly like trump. No, I’m calling it off, not you! But I still wonder...
Sadly, it is: https://apps.npr.org/documents/document.html?id=4482998-Letter-to-Kim-Jung-Un So massive. So powerful.
He has his nukes. He has been treated as an equal by the President of the United States and South Korea. He has seen that South Korea is willing to go to great lengths to make peace with him. He has seen how eager the President is to do a deal and be the hero. Even this morning Trump said that the meeting will definitely happen at some point even if they can't do this one.
This is not real?!? My son is 8, within 2-3 years he will be on the cusp of having the capability to write something better than this.
rocketboy knew what he was doing all along and I think that's why Kim met with comrade Xi first. Comrade xi also knew there was never going to be a meeting. "you talk about your nuclear possibilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I PRAY to GOD that they will never have to be used." so many smhs in that line. why even bother with the massive part. can't tell who has the biggest case of little man syndrome between them.
Agree. Plus, Trump and the US is on the hook for NOT trying to negotiate and just gave up. IOW, instead of NK being solely responsible, the US can now be blamed (by those in SK, Japan, China...) Also... what happen to the theory of max pressure and max isolation with China clamping down creating much economic hurt for NK? They seems to not care.
