Guys Marwin’s numbers will be there at the end of the year. He’s one monstrous week away from being on last year’s pace. I fully expect to see him get hot for 8 or 9 games soon.
There's a difference between being selective and swinging wildly and watching balls go by in the dead-ass center of the plate with runners on base. Especially when you're a guy that is counted on to drive in runs. Even more especially when there are 2 outs. You know this. I know this. We all know this. I don't get your point.
He's got a .905 OPS over his last 10 games, he's already putting it together. That was sure a terrible AB though. Gattis is the one that still isn't showing any signs of life, just terrible.
Looks like the adjustment to the Astros offense is simply to challenge them with hittable pitches.... which seems like just the sort of adjustment Ground Control would want an opposing staff to make. Maybe the Astros are playing the looooong game.... and purposely want these “tendencies” to be part of the scouting report, which will then have them feasting come stretch run time. Or maybe they’re just not being aggressive enough in hitters counts with runs to be driven in...
Astros are, coming into tonight: 11th in MLB in OPS with Runners On 13th in MLB in OPS with RISP 27th in MLB in OPS with RISP and 2 outs eta: if somebody wants to check BA or OBP, that would be nice.
There go the clueless Astros fans again.... if that had been the Yankees at the plate, everybody would have magically shied away from the ball... because cluelessness.
Pitching staffs have made some adjustments. Astros need to adjust back. Of course, a ton of this can change in just 2 weeks.
Right up with there with the luck that got them Verlander, Cole, McHugh... And they’re really lucky that they all go on to have an uptick in their stuff as soon as they join the Astros. No coincidence at all... its all luck!
