Probably about the same time they spend with someone at the combine.

Ready to have your mind blown?

Aiken from the Eagles made fun of Dallas & said no draft pick here was even born when Dallas won the super bowl last time. Aiken probably didn’t even think this guy would get drafted.

    We all were laughing.

    2 hours later.

Texans take Akins. Born in 92. He was around for the Super Bowl. :/

No, it's the 3rd/middle rounds. Texans do not miss Rick Smith & co. here. ;)

We need a TE who is not concussion prone at this point. Does he fit the bill?

From what I've watched since they drafted him, this guy will soon be all time Texans record holder for block to the back flags.

First impression doesn't inspire confidence. Maybe its confirmation bias, but I still dont get it. He looks more like a big WR than a TE. As such, his physical traits are much less impressive.

FWIW, Akins was the 2nd best TE (and 4th best player overall) available on Mel Kiper’s board when he was taken.

Keith Mumphrey, Tyler Ervin, Treston Decoud, and now Akens. Texans always have one pick that is a head scratcher and a player that was projected much lower.
