The Texans are really pretty set at safety with Tyrann Mathieu and Dre Hal back there and they probably aren't ready to give up on Kevin Johnson either meaning that they won't be going for another expensive CB either. I would love to see EJ Gaines on the Texans, but I think we are going to end up having to deal with AC, Kareem Jackson, and JJo with Kevin Johnson as the 4th guy for now.
He probably wouldn't beat out Dre Hal, so really you'd be cutting Kareem Jackson if you signed EJ Gaines....which I would support, but I just don't see them doing it.
I think Kareem and Kevin Johnson are trade bait on draft day and now.. (I really think with the familiarity of EJ Gaines and our GM ) Its a possibility he is still targeting him. also is there any TE we would be interested in trading for?

The forgotten man, Treston Decoud, intrigues me. He’s long and has good ball skills, I wonder if they’ll give him a shot to see what we have in him.
Looking at the PFF graphic about the secondary, last year would have been JJO with 75.7 Kjax with 52.2 Kevin Johnson with 32.1 Marcus Gilchrist with 77.2 Dre Hal with 78.5 Our 2nd worst CB is now our worst and the safeties essentially stay the same on paper....but only on paper as Mathieu should have a bounce back season yet another year removed from injury.
My opinion...no more big signings for now. Work out extensions with Clowney and McKinney. Then, if Bashaud Breeland can pass a physical in May, cut Kareem and use the cap savings plus $1-2 million more to sign Bashaud to a similar contract he would have signed with Carolina.
