Robert Mueller, Former F.B.I. Director, Is Named Special Counsel for Russia Investigation

Interesting Mueller take from Wired yesterday, including some details of his service in Vietnam and why he keeps D.C. in perspective as a result. Also some decent analysis of the moves to come.

If anyone can get to the bottom of this, it would be Mueller, I hope he gets the chance to complete his investigation or I hope there will such a backlash that the GOP will be washed away for decades in elections.

 

So just so we are clear-

We know that as of tomorrow when inevitably the "Nunes Memo" gets released, the GOP will call for Rod Rosensteins head ASAP. Its unclear if Trump will fire him or not, but I'm assuming he will in order to get to Mueller.

Big question now is-

Rachel Brand - She looks to become the active Deputy AG once Rosentein is inevitably fired by Trump. Does anyone know enough about her to know if she is an institutionalist or if she is a Trump sycophant who will do the inevitable and fire, or narrow the scope of the Mueller investigation in order to stifle the probe?

 

What information are you expecting to come out that would lead people to call for Rod Rosenstein's head? What is it you think he's done that will get exposed?

He named Robert Mueller to lead the Russian Investigation.
He has not pressured Mueller to wrap up his investigation.
He was against the release of the Nunes memo.

If you believe the numerous reports, Trump has been wanting to fire Rosenstein fired for some time.

 

All 6 are also Republicans........ but they have apparently be compromised. Never mind the fact that Trump appointed over half of them.

Those aren't things that would come out in the memo, those are things that are already known. The question was about what you thought would come out in the memo that would have people going after him since you seem to think there is some secret about Rosenstien that is set to come out and lead to his firing.

 

I couldn't find any schools named after him, but I did find 5 McCarthy Streets. I don't know if the streets are named after him or some other McCarthy.

 

The only thing we know is that the information that comes out in the memo is not accurate or complete. So anything in the memo isn't really a legitimate cause for firing anyone.

 

That's not really true, we know that it's accurate, but it might not be complete.

That said, you were the one that suggested that revelations from the memo would lead to pressure to fire Rosenstien, I was just asking what you thought those revelations would be.

 

When the FBI says there are "grave concerns about the accuracy" that is the opposite of knowing that it is accurate. It is far more than just incomplete. It isn't accurate.

 

It's been said that there are no factual inaccuracies in the report, the criticism is that the facts are out of context or that they would paint a potentially inaccurate picture as compiled.
