I love the idea of old grizzled veteran assistant coaches, they've seen it all. I have a good feeling about that.
Can't say much about this hire other than it was made by the Texans, so I'll assume it's not a good one.
I often wonder why football has so many coaches . . . . I get it there are alot of players but so many specialist Rocket River
I would think so . . . I mean . . .. Specializing on INSIDE as oppose to OUTSIDE linebackers . . . .. . I would think the coach would know both . . . . .and the assignment is arbitrary Like working Fries instead of burgers Rocket River
Pretty much, that's why there are so many former defensive players coaching offense and vice versa. Its more about how good of an educator can you be, because that's what they do, teach.
during the off-season it's about installing and coaching up young players. during the season it's about film study, game planning, meetings, and getting your players to execute. which means the best assistants are the ones who log long hours, there are no shortcuts.
I don't listen to the radio, but glad to hear he's still around covering Houston sports. Too bad KNWS 51 doesn't broadcast Rockets and Astros games anymore. It was nice to have back in the day where we didn't have all these streaming services available.
