@Cypress post history is god awful and even if everyone put him on ignore it makes the forum look really bad for guests with his idiotic reddit toxicity
Just FYI mods cannot ban. I have notified @Clutch so once he sees it hopefully he will take care of it.
He is the first person I've reported on here. That should tell everyone how awful this poster is, and I'm sure when Clutch gets around to it he will put him down. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
We also need to ban Lone Blade. This is obviously a troll account who has returned. He's insulting Australian Rockets fans. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...nd-of-the-season.285427/page-19#post-11403207
These cases always show that the current system is very flawed and too reliant on one person, rogue posters could bombard the whole site and no one could act until Clutch shows up and sees the reports. If Clutch wants to keep banning rights to himself, how about something like a feature that doesn't ban users completely but temporarily prevents them from posting? They would still be able to view the site, but unable to post. This feature is less drastic and I feel like Clutch would feel more at ease with delegating this to you guys. It would prevent these users from polluting the site and Clutch would be able to deal with banning once he has time.
Guy isn't banned yet, from what I can see. Just made his profile non-public, according to the status text you get when visiting the profile.
If I understand correctly, banning does not take away the ability to view the posts. I mean, any non-member can see the post as "guest" without logging in, right? But I kind of agree with your proposal of giving the mods a little more power to temporary suspend a poster until Clutch has time to deal with it. Anyway, it has been mentioned many, many times. Just put the guy on Ignore. Ignore not only gives you a little less clutters, it also saves you from the temptation of feeding the trolls. It's human nature that wants to argue with trolling comments. Not seeing them gives peace to you as well as the whole CF community.
True, I meant it as a form of "soft" ban that is only post-related and doesn't delete the user or his ability to watch the board with his profile. Semi-agree, the guy doesn't even annoy me as I never visit the Astros section. It's still a bad look and often derails threads, simply ignoring a user doesn't help when others react and the thread turns into a crap fest. There definitely should be a better solution, this board is too big for only one "true" mod, especially when he has little time (understandably, as he's doing a lot of work and has a family).
Since he loves the Astros so much. CF should use him as a guinea pig right before first pitch tonight.
