Don't forget kaleidoksy, bobrek, hey now, Joe Joe, nick, no worries. 'Something, something..... Standing in your own shadow'
Umm, no. And I may trust Hinch even less. Why does he continue to bring this clown in during these high pressure situations? Ridiculous... That being said we need Keuchel to be a beast tomorrow, and the damn bats need to stop having these type of games. WAKE UP!!! We can do this! Go Houston ****ing Astros!!!
This is what pisses me off the most. Giles robbed the team of a walk off World Series win. That moment could of been engrained in every Houston sports fan for the rest of their lives and here comes Giles to **** everything up with 8 pitches
I wonder if Giles knew he was "off" while warming up? Surely, there have been occasions where pitchers relay back to coaches that they "don't have it" and so they don't go in. I don't know how easy it is to tell while warming up. But, surely there are signs. He's been lost basically all playoffs and yet he still goes in with the same control problems and repeat bad performances.
I think that is a pretty fair assessment on Ken Giles. Giles has been flat out atrocious in the playoffs. You really get to see how good a player is in the playoffs. The playoffs are sink or swim time. It is when you find out the difference between a good regular season player and a good post season player. The difference and the difference between a good player and a great player comes down to mental toughness. Giles just doesn't have control on his fastball and is mentally weak. Giles very fist pitch was a hit by Corey Seager. Then Giles walked Justin Turner on four balls and one strike. Cody Bellinger then gets a double off Giles.
Hinch had NO REASON to trust Giles anymore. Again he had Harris warming up in the 9th last night (not Giles). Why he continues to trot him out there is just inexcusable.
Seager got a lucky hit then Giles walked the next guy and.. blah. It's just baseball and while I don't think I would have had Giles in there, it's really not THAT bad. The Dodgers are just really good.
The first hit was an unlucky slow roller up the middle. That said, Giles right now does not have the mental strength to deal with that bit of unlucky let alone some real ****. It's not his stuff, arm, rest, etc..., it's his mind. And it's facked right now and he has to be done for the rest of the series unless it's mop up duty in a blow out.
The lucky hit part is true. That could’ve been anyone but it became painfully obvious after that that he wasnt ready to compete. His balls werent even close. You knew he was mentally defeated. Everyone could feel it.
Losing the game and giving the other team a lead is one thing, but he didn’t even look like he was competing while doing it. That was a HUGE mess. Didnt look like a major leaguer honestly.
