When a pitcher has a 2.70 ERA and a WHIP under 1, and people act like he's finally stopped sucking after being bad all year.
I feel like Devo's cold streak has coincided right along with the time during which Giles has become unhittable. It's like Devo performed a Quickening and gave his powers to Giles for the greater good of the team.
Except Giles, along with Peacock, have been the Astros most consistent (and healthy) pitchers all year. I think Devenski needs some low leverage/long relief type stints to work on some mechanical issues. There's also the fact that even earlier in the year, when he was lights out, he had a tendency to give up some late inning hits/runs. I like him more as a bridge guy (6th/7th) than a pure setup man.
Harris coming back will help out everyone. Hopefully they can give Devo a week of rest (maybe even put him on the DL) so he can clear his mind and fix whatever is going on right now.
If your arm can't amp it up and you can't keep the ball out of the middle of the plate, then your changeup is kind of useless. Back when Devo was throwing 96/7ish, it made his change deadly. Now the book is out, everyone knows not to swing at that, and his FB is not as fast anymore.
