    This is like the Astros circa 2007. Still think they can win, oblivious to the reality of their situation. They're gonna be a non-factor for the next 5-10 years at this rate.

    FWIW, they traded for Cole Hamels with a 49-52 record, 8 games out of the division, 4 games out of the 2nd wild card.

    Astros are a much better team with a much better record than 2015. From an Astros fan perspective, any resource they or any other AL West team uses on 2017, the better. I don't care if Rangers win the wild card. I'd rather play the Rangers after a trade than an AL East after a trade in playoffs.

    Going for wild card is probably the right decision for the Rangers. Cheering them on is the right decision for Astros fans.

    The Rangers have a better team than they did in 2015. We shouldn't sleep on them. My hope is they won't be buyers or sellers.

    Rangers have a smart GM and in a 5 game series, if Darvish and Hamels are on their game they can steal a series from anybody. I'm really hoping they stay away from the WC, and away from us.

    A team that sweaks into the playoffs with a solid #1 and #2 SP can turn the tables on the better team which is why contrary to some posts others have made, I do not want the Rangers in playoffs and do not want them to upgrade. Id much rather face a team that depends on their batting or relies on pitching depth rather than their TOR guys. Ironically, the kind of team I am describing sounds like the 2017 Astros which is why I dont want us to stand still on the TOR issue.
