I'm arguing that you need to spread out your resources... spending all your cap space on redundant players is a mistake. If we had CP3 and Harden we would have two players who do many of the same things in the starting line up we need players who provide different things in different areas at an elite level.
We need Chris Paul more than you know it seems. There are very few players who can impose some discipline on Harden, and CP3 is one of them. You know our coach ain't doing it.
Hayward, Griffin, Millsap... I'd prefer to take runs at those guys. They fill positions of need. I think a Bev-Harden back court is good enough... if a Kyrie/JR Smith back court is... Where we badly need upgrades is in the front court.
Making runs at guys is not a pick and choose proposition. There is no time crunch. You can meet with all of them in the moratorium.
Is that really the point you thought I made? SMH. Not the fact that cp3 is another playoff suspect player and is old as **** already nearing the end and this ginormous contract would be just as hard to move like Ryan Anderson's?
I disagree. To put this in perspective... Chris Paul is age 32. Steve Nash at Age 32 (under MDA) averaged 18.6 Pts Per Game and averaged a career high in assists with 11.6 per game. Some will argue Paul is better than Nash. I could agree. The ONLY thing that made Nash better was his durability. That's what scares me about Paul but there is no denying that Paul when healthy is far superior to Ryan Anderson. There is no comparison. We would be getting the last 3-4 years of a good Chris Paul. Which may be what we need.
"Adorable" that you cant figure out that comparing 4 starting all-stars and Andre Igoudala off the bench is not really a comparison to any team in recent history. So go "cherry pick" some more BS reasons to prove your invalid points.
I think we need playmakers . My preference is to bring in one at the 3/4 , but the FA market (and in general) offers slim pickings . I think griffin is by far and away the best playmaking forward so I'd prefer him . That being said , if we can acquire Paul and then trade for an upgrade at forward then that's an interesting and promising possibility. Harden is willing to share the rock . He shared it with Lin and parsons his first year here . The narrative on James is being contorted and twisted. He can't be both an arrogant ball hog and too passive ; my money is on that he isn't always aggressive enough . If he hasn't figured out the proper balance yet , I think it's good to bring in a player that allows him to go with natural instincts and play as a supporting player from time to time.
man CP3 would be amazing. those who doubt the fit, well then i'd say you don't remember when harden was clamoring for a "second playmaker" lets get harden back to that historic efficiency.
